Bitcoin already is a great success! Bitcoin will always fulfill a useful function for as long as it remains the king of proof of work based digital currency. But Ripple has good prospects in cooperation with banks and regulators, which means that the XRP token may be attractive for investments.

WELL, these are 2 completely different coins that even the technology is not similar, I think people will never replace bitcoin because of its decentralization !

More important could Ripple become controlled by business or government?
Suppose that you already were given an answer, but still I would like to emphasise that ripple is a centralized coin since ~60% of xrp are controlled by the issuing company. Less than a half of emitted coins are owned by ordinary users. So ripple is a rather risky investment - you can wake up one day and see that all your XRPs were expropriated by an unknown hacker.

of course bitcoin, judging from the rankings it has been seen that bitcoin is better and if you look deeper, and detailed then you will know that bitcoin is much better than ripple. the difference will be very far.

if there's any other altcoin going to take over the number one spot then i don't think ripple would be able to do that. Bitcoin has existed for so many years now and still going to appreciate in value.

From most people's answers, of course, almost all choose bitcoin, because in my opinion bitcoin is still the best choice for investment, especially in the long run, it will be able to give us a lot of big profits and this coin has been widely believed to grow in value.

It also doesn't hurt if you want to invest in Ripple, maybe XRP can be used as an investment place that gives hope in the long run, but not so for the short term because the popularity and value that will change cannot be as big as Bitcoin.

But if the funds invested are also quite large, it is not impossible to get big profits later, because Ripple price movements are still up and down following the movement of bitcoin.

When you invest in Ripple, you are basically just put the faith of your money in the hands of banks which stay behind it. Ripple is extremely centralized and as you cannot predict the behavior of its beneficiaries investing in it will simply be a lottery.

Ripple is indeed a centralized scheme but that doesn't mean it isn't good for investments, after all there is a world apart from cryptocurrencies that can still bring a lot of profits, if that is what you are aiming for.

I am sure that if ask everybody here what will they choose to invest in the single coin they will choose BTC so in this situation BTC will be the winner as well. It is the most reliable and too profitable coin than to work with others with lower income here.

Could Ripple XRP replace bitcoin before it is widely accepted?
If ripple allows users to send money instantly and almost fee free, with a pretty and easy to use UI.
Plenty of money to burn on advertising and reputation building.
Business and Financial connections likely to get them accepted on large merchant sites.
Why would the average person have any interest in Bitcoin?

More important could Ripple become controlled by business or government?

I'm not suggesting any of this is fact.
Just wanna hear the opinions of people that actually know stuff.

I would not invest in Ripple as it is not decentralised, not open and there is no proof of work. Also supply could increase anytime. Also does the token not have a clear utility. If you can explain the utility please do so. Bitcoin will remain the elefant in the room. What I do not like about Bitcoin is the concentration of more than 90% of Bitcoin with the top 4 holders.

It is not right to compare such projects at all. What is Ripple? This is a very strange coin with a large amount of coins on locked purses, which belong to the developers, I think that everything is clear.

I do not own a Ripple right now although I read how profitable is this coin, I prefer holding Bitcoin being a cryptocurrency supporter I read a lot of negative things about Ripple of it not being decentralized and people has a control of it, so it's Bitcoin or other altcoin but not Ripple.

Well, although I do not know too much about ripple but I see a lot of people complain and freeze a large amount of money in ripple when they invest in it, value and development does not seem so ideal, it can maintain the position as the present is really a surprise. While bitcoin has very strong development and is supported by many people, its position speaks to all its potential, so there is no reason to skip bitcoin and choose ripple, a clear difference

This is impossible since bitcoin is the flagship and Ripley is just a speculative coin and I think it can come out of the top 3 !

Ripple and Bitcoin are not in the same category! The future of Ripple is not as secure as that of Bitcoin. Ripple is centralized and any centralized Asset can be change by it's owner. Bitcoin however is not centralized and it can not be control by individual or group!

I would definitely choose bitcoin over ripple because I am aiming for a high profit since that was my sole reason why I'm involved here. But I do not left behind the possibility of the ripple to have good value because it has also it's own potential on how to uplift it's current situation but this may take too long i bet.

i have been researching XRP for a long time. it is a promising project. It has practical uses in the banking industry. but I will not invest in it. it is a centralized coin. its price may be manipulated.

bitcoin is less volatile and I would better take XRP,because now crypto is on low level, so at the moment of growth, XRP will grow faster, so this is my decision.

I think both are good and very valuable coins and also they have their own advantages, but bitcoin is still the most desirable coin and of course the price is very high and also good for long-term investment.

I highly doubt that. Bitcoin is the main coin in the cryptocurrency market and Bitcoin is also a leader in capitalization. I doubt that Ripple will be able to compete with Bitcoin.
