I have a strange feeling US will go the way of Gold & Silver. But of course excepting most of the hillbillies, only the West and East coasts from there might be more involved in BTCiTcoinz! Gold and silver have nothing to do with being a "hill billy". For example, if you believe the market cap of bitcoin and metals had both peaked, the only logical game theory move in that circumstance is to dump all the bitcoin for metals since metals are more anti-fragile, more fungible, and less counter party risk. That is the basis of what defines the lower levels of Exter's pyramid. If there is no yield to be had, or even negative yield, there is no reason for money to go anywhere besides what is most safe.

looking the buy orders on Kraken i smell incoming panic buy i would say...
i keep looking the buy and sell orders for quite a long time now and if i am correct we will start upwards trend from today for long period of time (i not comment the up and down of ~20 euro)
looks to me that people start realize that with BTC they can change their future and i am happy about that.

May I ask why you think this will be for a long period of time?

Hahaha love how you think you can predict the market on a longer time frame by looking at the order book.

What do you people make of this? Will it make Mexicans look for alternative ways for remittances?
well, if they turn to bitcoin expect every exchange and buying service to have its ass hammered. it's not the type of thing they'd turn a blind eye to.

of course if they use it only as a mean of transfer of value they would just dump it as soon as they receive, so would make no overall difference in the price, only effect would be some increase in volume

want to answer to the 2 posts that was after mine in the previous page. i wrote that some hours before and the chances was like 50 % - 50 % .... i mean or up or down at that time. well let's say i was lucky because the truth is that we went up from the 842 EUR / BTC by the time i wrote that . Compare to the 857.53 EUR / BTC that we are now... 15.53 EUR up is something good ... ok maybe it's not the order book i look only, i speak with the spirits of the mountains here in my area. have faith people and be sure you are in this train, we have a long long ride here....

I lost a little less than 1%, but at least I could rest without looking to the price every 15 minutes or so fearing a huge drop because of the chinese new year or for whatever reason
I just hope this is not a mini bull trap before the fall

I think we witnessed quite the opposite, the drop invited loads of bears to open shorts. They were reeled in like suckers. Now they're under water & will most likely drown in the next week.

You only lose if you sold and then you bought back higher price than you sold, no? I know that quite a few people attempt to trade like that, which is that they sell as the price is going down, and then every once in a while, they will make a killing because the price actually does go down (to make up for the times that they lost), but to me, it does not seem to be a great long term strategy... because it is too much like gambling... or attempting to read tea leaves that are very deceptive. I lost a little less than 1%, but at least I could rest without looking to the price every 15 minutes or so fearing a huge drop because of the chinese new year or for whatever reason

I hope that you are correct about this. A bounce to the mid to upper $900s would be a nice little refresher, but even better would be if we could crack $1k over the chinese new year weekend... Currently, I am thinking that $1k is going to be more difficult to break than it was one month ago when we kind of just sailed through it like hot butter.

Transactions are not instantaneous, therefore coins are removed from supply during that interval, which will affect price. One might liken hodling to a super-slow transaction.
