I really do not understand why the "core team" has a 2X problem.

Greg Maxwell is on the "core team". That goes a long way to explain a lot of weird shit IMHO.

Weird shit like what?  What do you got?  You are just making up shit, and engaging in personal attacks without any kind of reason, except to drop names that you want to attack and without any basis..  Why don't you and Odalv go back to r/btc with your non-substantive personal attacks.. and spout your meritless anti-core nonsense.  go back and push your Bcash and your segwit2x and your other baloney attack coins..

Altcoins are going down because of the sell pressure of the big investors, they want to accumulate BTC, so they can get a free airdrop from BTCgold....  Roll Eyes

LOL, so there's something called BTC Gold coming up now? You've gotta be kidding me, I didn't know about that all.

I didn't even completely extract my bitcoin cash off from my bitcoin wallets... Now I'll be getting BTC Gold too? I literally am not interested in such pathetic trash! Cry

No problem.
Can you do me a favor? Once BTC Gold is launched (Oct 25), can you move your BTC to new wallet and just give me your unused private keys?  Tongue

I don't get why bitcoin holders do not realize that every alt coming out from bitcoin eventually is our best way to get more free bitcoins! Pathetic trash you called it. I agree! But do you know what it's been used in farming as a fertilizer?
Shit! I mean real shit! Now they call it compost.

So let them create their alts so that we can dump them for BTC. Easy

I see these forks as some kind of inflation. some bitcoin value moved to bcash, without bcash bitcoin price would be higher. they also lead to a lot of confusion for new bitcoin users. these forks are bad imo.

Yes it's free money for each bitcoin holder. And as this is open source hardforks by people who think things should go a different direction are inevitable.
Nothing wrong about that. If you're smart you will know how to make money or more bitcoin out of it.
And the more forks we will see in the future the less and less importance or kind of threat they will be for the legacy chain. Bitcoin gets more and more resistent. This is good. We need this "tests" and attacks now to see if Bitcoin is indeed as strong as it was designed.

I really do not understand why the "core team" has a 2X problem.
Without 2X is not Segwit. Bitcoin has exponential support, so 2X is a good compromise.

... ok I understand that they want to create a "market fee" and "birth of side chains" as soon as possible.

The war between Bitcoin and Segwit2x will damage both sides and finally 2X is necessary (only the of time question)

You are full of shit.

You assume the conclusion to your logical puzzle. Don't know why core is against, 2x, 2x is necessary.. blah blah blah...

No 2x is not necessary.  There is absolutely no reason for 2x, except the fact that various folks (including you) are making up facts and conclusions in order to assert that 2x is necessary, when it is clearly not.

2x is only being propositioned as being necessary in order to make attacks upon THE REAL bitcoin.

You know that, but you are just coming into this thread and making nonsensical points and assuming the conclusion that you want to reach (and you hope others will reach your nonsense too..... like they do in r/btc... and.. makes NO sense.

As I always advocate! We need smaller blocks! It is a security issue and the independence of the coin depends on it. Cheesy Cheesy

There are zillions of alt coins ready to take over a chunk of the day to day transactions at a market acceptance price. Think about a coin with circuit breakers! It would be predictable and fast in the same time. Smiley

Well, they never really agreed to Segwit2x. They implemented Segwit, which had widespread support. The miners and services decided amongst themselves to hard fork 3 months later. Discussions of the 2x hard fork itself aside, I think it's reasonable that both Core and users generally oppose such a timeline.

... ok I understand that they want to create a "market fee" and "birth of side chains" as soon as possible.

The war between Bitcoin and Segwit2x will damage both sides and finally 2X is necessary (only the of time question)

The way I see it, the damage was already done. Maybe not for the same reasons as others think so, though. To me, the fact that BIP148 folks (now NO2X folks) wanted to permanently split Bitcoin so they could activate Segwit a bit earlier tells me they don't share my long term interests. If anything, it was an attack on my interests as a holder. Likewise, hard forks -- particularly contentious and hasty ones -- similarly threaten my long term interests.

There's a lot more to gain in terms of consumer (cheap) payments, anonymous payments, smart contracts and more if we are just patient and allow developers to build on top of Segwit.

My point of view, too. I guess it is the point of view of many non-politicized bitcoiners who just want an increase of utility and value, while keeping the strong points: permissionless and trustless, therefore decentralized. Non-inflationary.

It will be interesting to see what the come up with, but I will take a lot of convincing before I move any coins off into a side chain - to me that smells like an alt-coin and I'm not into alt-coins.

You mean LN? The transitions from-to blockchain and sidechain are cryptographically secure as any other blockchain transaction. As for cheating counterparts, planned provision of a simple bounty for guardians (in case you're offline) makes sure they have very little wiggle room. It looks very good on paper, and I'm confident it will work as advertised in reality. At the beginning, channel capacity is going to be limited to reasonable sums anyway, so the risk for pioneers is really reasonable.

before i thought 2mb blocks were a good compromise ...now after the august events it's really is not. maybe someday yes but for now it appears the current parameters are fine as is ~ i feel the original troll of x2 was to undermine the LN team...  Cool

We had a 1.5k bullish run since 3k. Now it's time for a little correction and check what are the new resistances.

Yep...looks like I spoke too early but that is ok. What pisses me off is that I suspect the fall is due to recent Dimon's comments...
Is bc still falling for this crap or is someone manipulating it to give that impression?
