aha I tricked you though because 'nodes don't matter', remember.
glad you got some dosh out of this heist.
but I do still feel sorry for the Korean customers who Roger Ver stole from
Never really thought about those "Korean customers"... I mean... If someone buys some crypto that is experiencing such a pump I assume that someone knows what they are doing and the HIGH risk of a subsequent dump coming at any moment, no? I would like to blame Ver and his gang for ripping off those people.... but I am not so sure that would be completely fair. Maybe he didn't even dump onto them after the peak. Maybe it was us bitcoiners trying to maximize our gains into BTC? I donno. Anyway Ver can be blamed for MANY other stuff already... trading is just trading. Not when it's wash trading timed with surgical precision to manipulate the markets. Which was basically the business model of the largest Chinese exchanges for years.

If you're tagged with this you're seriously fucked. It can be impossible to get a normal bank account, let alone anything else. And you don't have to do anything wrong to be branded with it.

How is this for a new scam idea - send me 500BTC and I will send you an image of my own creation, with a resolution of 1280x960 - great for a desktop background. Oh sorry - someone has already SUCCESSFULLY done this back in the day. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25Proof - the address still has $4m https://blockchain.info/address/1BHtsCnpmTvpgJEP7eMKEVhpJFunxSM8vq

Ya, I've been trying for a few months to get my btc-e wex.nz account back. They have a handy verification page when you try to log in so I was going through all of the steps, name, no problem, citizenship...*searches for United States* *checks for any way to input United States*, nope. I live in Korea so I put South Korea since it's an option. I input my Korean address, my Korean ID, my Korean utility statement.
*denied* 'please include a scan of your passport'
hmm...you're not going to like this buy my passport shows I am a United States citizen...which I cannot choose as an option.
If Namecoin ever goes to the moon I'll have to get a second passport just to get my NMC from Wex. I had 21k NMC before they went down. They have every incentive to not let me back in.

But he is not and never have been a politician. It doesn't make any sense.
It's not just politics. I've heard of it happening to executives, businessmen, law enforcement. They get particularly funny if you've lived and worked abroad. It's your home country that fucks you with it. It is - a) an individual who is or has, at any time in the preceding year, been entrusted with a prominent public function by— (i) a state other than the United Kingdom; (ii) a Community institution; or (iii) an international body, And it doesn't even have to be you. If a family member or 'close associate' gets branded you might too. Under those circumstances they should automatically credit you with BTC.

FUD? Who knows. Tencent reported that Sichuan has issued a notice indicating that all BTC production is ILLEGAL. Thus all hydro power plants are to cut off electricity supplies or face penalty. The second image is the supposedly "official document". As I discussed before, those miners ship their Antminers to KangDing in Sichuan during Spring as the Himalaya melts and water flow downstream into Sichuan for cheap electricity from hydro power. Miners ship their Antminers back to coal producing region like Inner Mongolia during winter as the Tibetan plateau freezes up and electricity cost doubles. Just to note that it is almost winter now. Edit: Just to note that this is actually "Bullish" for BTC as it will effectively kill off those Bitmain mining farms, if true, or at least increase electricity cost significantly. So that individual miners actually have a chance to mine if profitability allows.

If Chinese gov't follows the pattern they used with exchange FUD, after they have made a profit from their shorts, they will go long and announce it's not illegal, just some new minor restrictions. Usually after a few days of confusion.
