It's nice to wake up and see that instead of the usual Sunday morning dump, our beloved BTC is up 4%. $6500 turned to be a much stronger support than expected from bears. If in 2016 before the halvening BTC started from 300 and in 2018 reached 20K, it is a nice math extrapolation problem to predict where BTC will be in 2022. Even more that now emerge regulated custody exchanges (e.g. that Swiss exchange, Coinbase) for institutional investors. The hopes for obtaining ETF are growing with the meeting of more requirements from SEC. I wouldn't advise selling any portion of BTC right now, with the hope of buying cheaper in 1-2 months. Who knows, we may wake up one morning and read the news that the ETF was granted. Moreover, there is a chance (like the futures) that the regulated exchanges can issue ETF withous the need of approval from SEC, according to the recent change of rules by SEC.

As they say, if you're not a liberal at 20, you've got no heart.
If you're not a conservative at 30, you've got no brain.

I’m pretty sure the average 75 year old redneck Trump supporter ain’t got no brain but ok.

However the inability of the left to champion the cause of the working class is really disappointing.  How did the right become the champion of the rural working classes. Something went badly wrong there.

I am sufficiently self - aware to appreciate that the preceding two paragraphs do not sit well together and may provide some insight into the current predicament.

Further, full credit to the Koch brothers for getting rural working classes to hate people who want to give them free health care, free education and workers rights.  That was truly masterful.  You have to appreciate the audacity and execution.

On Tuesday and Wednesday both our national teams are one game away from a World Cup final.  It is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for a player to become a hero for all time.  We still worship our 1966 team from more than half a century ago, everyone knows the commentary,. the team, the goalscorers, the goalkeeper from a young age.

I wish you victory against the French and if we beat the Croats, see you in the final, Mic - where history will be made.

I am sure you and your country are just as excited as we are.  Good luck!

Taking my g/f to Blenheim Palace this afternoon, it's not far from where I live and it's huge and beautiful - especially on a summer's day.

I just found out it's closed next weekend and I hear it is because Trump is visiting, seems he's avoiding London (as well as protests and any lighter than air objects in the sky) and being entertained there.

It's home of the Dukes of Marlborough, where Churchill was born and covered in enough opulent decoration to impress the likes of the current POTUS.   No doubt he will pick up some home decor ideas.

I do hope it's not too late for the balloon to follow him up there, it'd be a shame if he missed it.

It’s pretty tempting to go down the road of “if they really want to be slaves, let them be slaves” but you and I both know that’s not the right answer.

Sometimes you have to save people from themselves, if only because we want to live in a civil society. The Hobbesian jungle isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

But here's the thing : the debt slavers' game won't ever change. It hasn't changed in 100 years. It was set up and designed from the beginning to keep the working class moderately poor, but more importantly keep them working as long as possible until death. Every "service" given to the public for their supposed benefit comes with a cost, and that cost is a skimmed usury payment. Mortgages, rent, healthcare, car loans, student loans, insurance (for everything), utilities, assessments, subscriptions, property taxes, HOA fees, city taxes, sales taxes, social security benefits, unemployment benefits, long term care, long term investment plans, etc. etc. It's all by design. Just look at the latest rise in online "subscription services" for nearly every damn thing around you. How long until some of these subscription services are no long optional?

There has not been and never will be something given for "free". Even supposed free social services, free health care (and possibly direct free money, aka UBI) wouldn't be free at all... they will get their cut one way or the other. They always do. Everything the govt offers comes with a cost to the public. The middle class and poor will get charged a tax burden to subsidize "free" services. The wealthy elites will pay nothing.

They privatize gains and socialize losses. They socialize costs to the middle class to pay for the poor. They subsidize "today" at the expense of the future.

The only way out for Average Joe is simply to try and not play their game. Or at least minimize it as much as possible. The less reliant he/she is on the govt for services and on constant debt to subsidize one's life, the better off he/she will be.

But Average Joe has to figure this out for him/herself. No one is going to "save them", esp not the very establishment that is fucking them over.

Some worked hard got good jobs and earned big money. Some assumed they will never repay the debt partied it away and didn't give a shit. and I bet many more variations.

An early good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we had a nice little leg up late yesterday and it's seeming to hold... currently $6749USD/$8822CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Hopefully we'll continue with these moderate increases until they develop into a nice run up.

I had one sinus lift and multiple bone graft for only 3 implants and that has taken almost 2 years so just letting you know that 12 months sounds pretty conservative. Of course I was a smoker that caused  multiple failures and issues. I eventually quit smoking and just had my last graft a month or so ago and if this one doesn't take will have to have this last implant removed and start over again. Smiley

It's quite the thing when one guy is holding a foot long chisel in your head while the other is smashing it with a sledge hammer. I would have thought things were a little more mechanized by now. When that sinus bone breaks you can really hear it! Cheesy

My experience was nothing like that at all. They sedated me into what we used to call "twilight sleep" with a mixture of benzos and opioids so I barely remember anything. There was absolutely no pain involved. The insertion of the anesthesiologist's IV needle was probably the worst part. They gave me some opioid pills and antibiotics for the first week but the painkillers were really unnecessary.

I learned how to stop participating in pain years ago. I still feel immediate "feedback" pain that lets me know if something's wrong but I don't do ongoing or chronic pain any more.

I had to sleep almost sitting up for the first week or so, to prevent nosebleeds. I also had to wait that long before I got the stitches out. That was the worst part. I had to puree all my food. I lived on Ensure Plus and blendered real food.

Ever had a taco smoothie? Just throw a half pound of al pastor pork into the blender along with half an avocado, handfuls of chopped onions, tomatoes, cilantro and shredded Manchego cheese and a few still-warm fresh corn masa tortillas straight from the tortillaria. Yum. A drink that tastes like tacos al pastor and feels like tacos in your stomach.
_____

Maybe my recovery was eased by the fact that I quit smoking tobacco over 33 years ago and have strong bones. I read somewhere that the more you stress your bones, the stronger they grow. Having had my arm and leg bones screwed back together several times might have helped. The 7 broken ribs I suffered from the seat belt in a head-on highway crash might have helped too. That was what really taught me to ignore pain.

It may have also helped that I have an extremely healthy high-protein, high-fiber, low-carb diet... lots of rare meats, poultry, seafood, and raw or barely cooked fruits, nuts, vegetables and cheeses. I avoid rice, white bread, peeled potatoes, sweets, etc. Alcohol is my main carbohydrate. I also eat no eggs. Good food builds strong bones.

Maybe it's also a reflection of high-tech Mexican dentistry. Everything is ultra-modern. They don't take x-rays. MRIs are standard.

Some North Americans have a weird image of Mexico, fostered by the media. They have no idea.

Fuck mortgages and fuck debts. I am glad I don't have neither.

If i want something, I just buy it. If I don't have the money then I skip it. What is wrong with people they can't understand a simple concept like this. If you don't have the money why the fuck would you go under a debt??

But here's the thing : the debt slavers' game won't ever change. It hasn't changed in 100 years. It was set up and designed from the beginning to keep the working class moderately poor, but more importantly keep them working as long as possible until death.

Agreed with Torque. People are retards and it is not going to change. There will always be morons who'll take loans from banks to buy a goddamn BMW.

I own a small business and the bank employee in the bank which owns my business bank account despises me. I can see it in his eyes.

-Sir, you don't have any mortgages. No car loans neither, Nothing. In fact you haven't taken a loan since you were born. Would you like some?
+No thanks.
-Btw, you also don't hold any money in your account. Your networth is nearly zero. Would you like some stocks?
+Nope.
-Alright. *Fuck you dear sir*
