the idea won't die. the OPEN SOURCE version, however, may..if BTC chokes..when banks co-opt blockchain with no other option..they will likely save 75% to 90% in costs for moving $$$ about. In that they get 2% here there or whatever when anything is moved...and it would be automatic with the bank and big money control of their centralized ..probably patented blockchain equivalent token....well...can you say MULTI Trillionaires ..if say in 10 years they can get rid of 50% of the costs of running a bank and charge 2% a transaction for essentially automatic and free movement around the world? sh*t...I would expect the 'dark ages' to start soon thereafter with that much power in the top 1%. but yeah, if there is no open source alternative to a centralized bank controlled blockchain ...we are pretty much f*cked (looking like the backup retirement plan of being a 'minimalist' is in play now..if BTC tanks to 1k or some such..alas...one extreme or the other..it is how I roll)

Difficult to know what December 2018 and thereafter is going to bring in terms of BTC price performance, but I am having some doubts that in the short-term shorting BTC is going to be nearly as lucrative as it was in either 2014 or 2018... but what do I know?
The medium to long term price is relatively easy to predict... only shorter term is difficult. However, atm the price is in a very steady downtrend, so expect more of the same. The only interruption will be the odd sharp rally over the next few months, but the trend is still down. Actually, I am ready to concede about the bear market characterization of the current BTC market. Did the whole 20k to 4K thing not quite make its mark ? (Answers on a postcard,or better still a postage stamp.) His concession makes this whole thing now bullish. I am buying like a mother fucker now! /S

That's not a fucking parody. It's just the reality. We all knew there was a very real possibility that Bitcoin would never take off. Maybe, at times, we fooled ourselves into thinking that it was going to change the world... a "new paradigm" (ha!) that would make us all very wealthy at the same time. We had one final flash bang when it reached almost $20K. It was absolutely obvious that was the end, but we did not want to see it. Again, we fooled ourselves. We thought we were being smart while we were just selling incorporeal nothingness to each other for higher and higher prices until the Ponzi finally imploded. Current price is just the echo of that final explosion that is increasingly fading into absolute silence. Just silence. A devastating one. We are all just a bunch of delusional losers. Accept it. Move on now.

Guys, guys... What are you talking about no backup for GA 2FA?
You can fucking write down the "seed", store it in a safe place, and recover from it if needed..
Data are also interchangeable with WinAuth, that does allow you to export the "secrets" (basically the seeds) to a text file or an encrypted archive.

So, when is the $100 000 WO party and where? I pay the subway ticket for the bears.
I am also interested in the answer. Especially the "when" part.

Bitserve is probably talking about the seed which you get at the time of 2FA "creation" (not at the time of whole transfer/export). That backup/seed can be used to get the copy of 2FA code wherever (and whenever) you want.

P.S: Do posts mentioning theymos really get always deleted or is it just another myth?
A certain type of posting relating to theymos, will be - justifiably - expunged with extreme prejudice. It is just best not to poke our host. Like, at all. That's my advice, anyway. To be honest... I have always been a fan of Simple Machine Forum. Pair this with a good SQL backend and you can... Well you can scale to a forum with 100s of thousands of members and have threads with half a million posts. The problems the forum faces are not usually to do with SMF. Would I like a couple more nice themes? Yes.
