You want a magnet-proof wallet? Oops. I'm showing my age again. hollorith(sP?) code storage. gotta run Punch cards would be good for storing a private key, so long as they don't flutter off into the wind and get mixed together out of order. Or if you lose one. Probably better off just writing it down on a piece of paper... Well hey, if they ran the HAL-9000 off those things, maybe they could run a decentralized network. Maybe not.

The mighty Floppy diskThe only mobile storage available back then. Who had one/some? These modern ones aren't even floppy. 8 inches of truly floppy is the only way to move data

Are you saying the Floppy disks are still in the market? don't think so. Haven't flapped one in er, decades I should think just always seemed odd that they were still called floppy when after the 5 1/4 they weren't. I suppose "hard" had been taken...

The mighty Floppy diskThe only mobile storage available back then. Who had one/some? These were called "stiffy" disks back in my part of town. The 8" floppy disks are the much bigger cousin of this guy and is what I used to play Space quest 1 on. God those were the days.

If you didnt spend 5 minutes waiting for an audio tape to load a game, you didnt live the golden age. I miss my ZX Spectrum..All the squeaks and sounds only to end with an "R Tape Loading error" 10 Rem This is my private key Save "wallet" ...good luck retrieving it

That's an interesting idea... Of course if you're a moron who uses a really simple mnemonic its not going to help you. From the how it works: "These words are pulled from a specific list of 2048 words. In this list, the first 4 letters are unique to each word.
In other words, there are no two words in this list with the same first 4 letters.
That means if you have the first 4 letters, you know the rest of the word by looking for those first 4 letters in the BIP39 list. Some wallets will even fill in the rest of the word once the first 4 letters are entered."Hmm... so its built for a 6 word mnemonic out of a list of 2048 words... well that makes 17.54 trillion possible combinations so its probably OK. Of course how you generate the seed matters immensely as well.

My first computer (games console) was a Commadore Amiga, 500 Plus. Great little machine, years ahead of its time. If Commodore hadn't bankrupted itself with an ill-advised foray into gaming consoles, the Apple Mackintosh would have withered on the vine. The Amiga had it beat for graphics and sound and the PC ruled the business world. What a loss.
