May be the same guy that pumped yesterday on Bitstamp to makes some profit on the unregulated Bitmex with fat long position, squeezing $125 mln shorts. It may be a different whale who squeezed $90 mln longs now, but who cares. The remaining traders are on a loss. They sold below 9.6K to buy above 10K and now to sell again at 9.5K. I really hope the way above 10K and beyond ATH to be cleared some day in the near future. Unitl then:

Whales playing with weak hands again. Those poor little mice caught in the daily dump traps are losing, losing, aaaand losing again. Cul loss after cut loss, they can't see the forest because of the tree in front of their eyes. Even if they rebuy with the next pump, they will definitely sell with a loss at the dump that follows. But as the founder of the HODL said once: guess who the whales won't trick? The hodlers, because they are already in when the pump starts.  Grin And the pump is coming soon and it will be vicious. One of the most glorious in the history of Bitcoin. To da moon!

Just to distract you from the price.
Kraken has answered to the infamous Goldman Sachs conference with a well written report.

Re: @GoldmanSachs:“Implications of Current Policies for Inflation, Gold and Bitcoin"

So you have two ways to alleviate from dump-induced pain:
  • Buy the dip
  • Read interesting reports about bitcoin, and not about the price of bitcoin.
  • Actually, three: do both

Hm. Did peace just break out?

On a related note, two friends of mine who have been taking reasonable precautions are now down with C19. Keeps creeping closer. Interesting.

peace? that thing i read about in fiction books?

sorry bout your friends. one of mine, with underlying conditions, caught it (tested and confirmed). was real bad for a couple weeks, slowly improving. very slowly. hopefully no lasting issues.

Well good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we had a classic bart and are right back where we were yesterday in the mid-$9xxx range... currently $9488USD/$12794CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Of note is that the bart up was with high volume while the bart down was with much smaller volume.

Still, the battle for 5 digits could take some time.

Go Bitcoin go.

Could you please advice; what would be a very userfriendly and safe Android app to be used by the less tech savvy
to buy some BTC and keep them in their own wallet on their phone?

While it's best to always keep your bitcoins safe by keeping them in cold storage ("paper" wallets), from time to time it's necessary to temporarily sweep some of them into an electronic device to transfer them.

For this I recommend Mycelium. It is the mobile wallet application used by all of the OTC dealers I deal with.

It's very easy to use and is as secure as any mobile wallet. While it had some issues with iPhone users at one time, those issues have since been resolved. As an Android user, you should have no problems.

It just plain works. I haven't used anything else for years.
