I feel evil for liking this. There were a LOT of clueless folks that got screwed over by a insecure asshole's shenanigans.
I take it back. I do NOT like it. But there's nuance.
It takes a entitled asshole with a need to be the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, AND a mindless slobbering rube who will follow him over a cliff.
The reason for the fleeting feelings of liking this sort of thing is that you were telling people that they are being stupid and no one listened. So it's only natural to feel better when proven correct.
But as you say it is absolutely shit and no one should like it.
The fact is that the elites of this world like to make out that they are smarter (proven by their success, just ignore their silver spoon), have peoples interests at heart, and should absolutely be listened to by all those who belong to the 99%. While they try to enforce this way of thinking, behind the scenes they are stealing wealth from these same people through a variety of ways and sending them over the trenches in large numbers, against machine gun fire, in order to enrich themselves a little further. In this case getting them to pump doge.
I take zero pleasure in the 99% (particularly the 90%) losing their wealth, that was gained through their labor, to the elite so that they can then use this extra capital against the people once more for further gain. It's a sickening practice, that has been running throughout history, only briefly interupted through times like the bubonic plague, powerful unions, or utter devastation of ones country after war.
Fuck Elon and the rest of the robber barons who try to make out that they are gods gift to humanity.
