@ miner417 - We all started off as small miners so no biggy. Not too long ago, I was like you and were asking even more basic questions such as what is a USB powered riser which is embarassing as I've been doing IT for 20 years.
@ zerf2004 - Probably best to wait a few weeks. Finksy will have his custom cables arriving in a week and then drop ship them to Hawkfish to put on Amazon. Hawkfish will have the complete offering HP1200W PSU, breakout boards, Pico + custom cables. It will be easier. But if you need it faster for the cable, ping Crypto. He does quality stuff and I would recommend him for custom length version as well.
@ farlowdna - Yup, many of us are Pico crazed, unfortunately most are designed for ITX mini computer not for mining. Until now that is. Hawkfish and Finksy will be hooking it up. This is what I love about those two guys. Most of their money are made via selling to big cats but they never forget about us little guys. It's more work for them to cater to the small miners but being miners themselves, that's who they love supporting.

Great Job Cryptowatcher. So for those that are interested in the Picos. It is now officially ready since we don't have to worry about the cable delays from Finksy. I will ask Hawkfish to work with Finksy to see if he can get a bunch put on Amazon to make it easier for everyone to buy. In the short term until Finksy can fix the cable delay, I will have Hawkfish ping Crypto to get a bunch of these cables made so that they can be sold as a bundle vs separate if possible. We'll try to make it affordable.
that's a great idea bud, as a bundle would work for everyone just about everyone!

Hey guys,
Could you share some knowledge about how you study/choose what coin to mine mid-long term.
I know about calculators and stuff, I am interested in analytics, personal favors and senses you have towards particular coins/algos.
And, maybe, some sites particulary useful in some 'special' way.
My choice was and is Eth but due to little (140+ Mh) resources can't deviate from ROI yet. -,- Dash and BitcoinPlus made huuuuu-uuge gains some days ago. Wish I had some 'capital to play' -,-

@Yslyung - Cool dual PSU config. So this dude is using my Rig pic for his main Video page without asking for my permission first. Not sure if I should feel honored or cheated? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4TLpPWSBnU

@onefinecoin. Youtube have a main picture you can set when people search for your video but it's not part of the video. If you just copy and paste that link to say Yahoo email to send to someone, you can see he use my OLD LED rig setup for his main search picture. I commented on his Youtube video section.

good luck getting copyright and or patent here in the USA, patent requires a lot of shit. you cant just apply for them well you can but you wont get approved for it takes 3 years min for most business's to get a patent, don't know about getting a copyright, id think that would be much easier

yun9999,
How is the Shed Build doing? I am buying 2 sheds as soon as my yard is dry enough tohave them delivered.(lots of rain lately) One for storage and one converted to a mining shack. I have 9 rigs in my house and heat has been an issue since I built them. I want to move these out and add a few more rigs. Just wondering how the heat is doing with the box fans? Is it gonna be enough air flow when temps are 105-110f outside?

This is motivating me to start my mining journey very soon, there are many equipment that are needed to start but I need something basic to start and see how the mining really works in the real life.
I'm thinking to buy few graphic cards, check how these automation works and then start purchasing graphic cards on 6-7 at each order.
Can someone estimate how much are the expenses for starting, how much do we expect to earn and when reaching the ROI etc.

@ Navy Dude - If I get to do it all over again. I wouldn't bother with a small shed. I would build a large structure where I don't need GFI. GFI is simply not good with PDUs as the more devices you have connected, the more likely 1 device will have issue causing everything to trip. The constant breaker tripping even during drought weeks tells me it's not humidity. I've replaced breakers, and the issue is very random and it can happen at night or day time. This can occur on any of my 4 GFI 30AMP breakers. This is getting annoying and costly. Going non GFI 120V is not an option for me as that would consume double the amperage and going non GFI for 240V would be asking for trouble and potential death. It's not worth the risk. Cooling wise it's working well but the best you can get with air cooling is same as ambient. If the outside ambient is 105-110F, I would recommend turning off for the peak hours where it reaches those temp. You would lose only a few hours of revenue but will avoid costly damages. The rest of the non peak hot hrs should always be well below 100F making it safer to run.

Totally agree, i had a blade chassis with 8 blades running, a eql SAN a fridge running on a GFI plug, with mining gear on it, and never popped, i think my cable is jacked. so now no servers or san, just 1 miner, and fridge and that thing pops every 45 mins. weird. about to run 240 in my garage. on dual pole 80A breaker, i have ~ 4 miners i have to put togethe, but cant due to that dang GFI plug

Does anyone have an experience with 1 fan variants of cards for mining? (XFX, PowerColor). Do they run a lot hotter than others because of the 1 fan, or is it okay? Also the MSI Armor RX470's, how's their cooling? I've heard that they run hot because they only have 2 heat pipes, but I don't have one to confirm. I have an RX480 Armor with 3 heat pipes and it runs fine.

No Problems here with Powercolor 470 Red Dragon (single large fan) but of course undervolted so one card draws around 100W for ETH from outlet (ZEC mining needs 14% less). The open air rig has a quite large distance (ca. 2 inches) of cards - maybe this helps.
