yeah, typical residential wiring isn't built for 24/7 pedal to the metal heavy continuous electrical loads -- one rule of thumb I use: if any connection, like a receptacle, is warm to the touch then it needs to be monitored closely. If it is hot then failure is imminent and it needs to be fixed immediately -- especially in a residential environment. Also need smoke detectors and fire extinguisher for electronics like CO2. Those cheap disposable extinguishers might put the fire out, but may ruin your electronics, and make a huge mess

An ammeter to check actual amp draw on your mining circuits in the breaker panel  and laser temp gun can help make things easier to monitor

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

If you even think you are getting close to your power limits then it is time to consider hosting solutions.  Besides the fact that summer temps and heat from miners don't mix well, and many times the hosting environment power costs etc are lower than many residential rates it can become a win win solution.

What pikachu said, plus:

The (US) national electric code says the maximum CONTINUOUS current draw is 80% of the breaker rating. In this case, the highest continuous current for a 15 amp breaker is 12 amps total. Don't forget to include anything thing else on the breaker like lights or electronics.

If you are going into full power extraction mode, you might want to check that the labeling on your junction box is correct. If a particular breaker has scattered outlets, you may want to also map them out.

One last thing, I would talk to an electrician if you house has 14 gauge aluminum wiring. This is a problem.

Thank you for all the wonderful Info. My house was just built in dec 2016, hopefully its uptodate to code standard.

I think the only stuff built to withstand miner requirements are dryer & electric oven power lines. 220v lines. They have thicker gauge wires and more amps on circuit breaker.
using 110v power supply at high wattage at constant peak usage over long distance (from circuit breaker) is bad. Not a electrician, but I believe new wiring won't forgive mining requirements and laws of physics. Stick with the dryer power lines or pull new 220v lines.

I use 20amp 12awg wire to 220v outlets..if possible and you have like smaller 14 awg wire just replace  a circuit or hack something together thru a piece of electrical conduit and replace and patch
when home mining is done

lots of youtube videos on such

anyway my basement stuff is all done on the above....all 220v

edit: by replace above I mean replace 14 awg wire and 15 amp breaker from box to 220 outlet with 12 awg wire and double pole 220v 20 amp breaker....you can use regular
awg 15 wire ..just mark the white wire at both ends (box and outlet) with black elec tape as they are both no hot thru the double pole breaker)

again youtube videos show all this..just edited to clarify

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Yup, if your still dealing with 120v for mining your going to burn something down eventually (especially if the outlet is not near your panel).

This is what all my miners run off...DIY 240v junction boxes running 10AWG to 30A double pole breakers in panel (capable of at least 6kw continous draw per box). Each box has relays controlled by wireless pi's, so always have full remote control shutoff/start up for locked hardware etc.

Dont need to step foot in mine unless im adding new stuff Cheesy

How bout that for an equivalent of a 1K USD PDU unit for 50 bucks worth of parts  Cool

I'm not sure Holmes would approve.

What ideas do you guys have for hosting solutions?

Also wasn't there a forum member that was hosting for multiple other forum members? Feel welcome to PM me if you want to keep anything private. I'm looking for a hosting solution

sidehack is offering hosting solution with acceptable power price and VPN access. He's from time to time overwhelmed with other design/production priorities, but keeps hosting pace in general.

I do mine thru maxumark here. Pm him. I've done so for a year or so. I've 6000mh.
He can monitor and trouble shoot. Not just dump into data hall and you are on your own. This
Is damn handy.

Pm him or me for particulars.

I have a similar setup with a 220v on double 20 amp breakers for a single L3+.  I also have 2x120v outlets each on their own 20amp breaker that I use to run my Titan.  I'm feeling like I could run a lot more than I do on each circuit.  If you're saying 6kw, does that mean you could run about 4xL3+ with a PDU solution assuming 80% load is safe?

I am thinking next go round I need to step up my game.  I'm curious what I could get away with given my current panel situation.  I don't have much room without adding a sub-panel.  I'm guessing it wouldn't be too hard to convert my 2x120v to a single 220 double pole.

Found 2 blocks today. That makes 3 in 9 days. Earned 27 LTC in pool, solo would have been 75 plus fees. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

I'm using www.litecoinpool.org it is an LTC only pool and has NO FEE and pays out at 102%...no drama ..never goes down
i have not even had a backup pool set since Nov 8th 2014 lol Smiley

You can use this calculator to see what it pays out at the 102% rate as a comparison ...or play with the price (i find $50 setting sooooothing.....fantasy calculator wise Smiley

If you plan on hoarding LTC it works great. Even on old evil knc titans Smiley

Yea variance is insane now for even 1GH worth of miners. 2 of mine have been mining for almost 2 weeks without a single block. Would have been screwed if I tried to solo.

litecoinpool.org is a very old and respected pool..
for solo mining you can use solo.nicehash.com, or tbdice.org
