Reading about 1070 -makes me feel like buying two 1070 is better than getting 1 x 1080ti

For example 1070 guys are getting ~ on average 400-450 sol - with 1070 single out of box. The 1080ti is getting 700-740 with +150 core and +300 memory.

Skein 1070 are getting 450-550 - 1x 1070

and 1080ti  get 900-990 - with overclock.

Cost wise 1080ti is around what 900-1k

Dual 1070 similar cost ?

In my experience for most algos except ETH you can use this forumula --> 10x1070 equals 6x1080Ti

For example:
skein -
1x1070 - 585Mhs
6x1080Ti 5900Mhs

skunk -
1x1070 - 29Mhs
6x1080Ti 300Mhs

lbry
1x1070 - 315Mhs
6x1080Ti 3000Mhs

I prefer my 1080Ti setup

You are comparing 1 with 10 ? I don't get it.

I posted the numbers up.

6 x 1080ti = 6k
12x1070= $4-5k

However, you'll be getting more speed out of 12x1070 setup. That's what I was suggesting and plus- you save 1k as well as on power. Since 1070= 180w and 1080ti = 250 watts.

You calculated 1k $ per 1080ti but 330-420$ per 1070? Where can i get them, will buy 6 at least Wink

Just cards.

For example I have this

I have these slots.

Slot 1: PCI-Express x16 Gen 3i
Slot 2: PCI-Express x4 Gen 2
Slot 3: PCI-Express x16 Gen 3i
Slot 4: PCI-Express x1 Gen 2
Slot 5: PCI-Express x16 Gen 3i

and 1500 watt PSU

that's my gaming PC and I'm looking to upgrade -currently I only have single 1080ti - now -I'm thinking should I get Dual 1070 or single 1080ti because it'll cost about the same.

Another thing is- we have forgotten that this thread was about Best "coin" to mine- as in, to use full potential of our card. Not coin that would make us x dollars and so forth. That's a complex process- just two months back i was earning $10 and now $3 , however, the speeds are still the same. It's unfortunate that there was such a drastic crash but that's where the "investor" and "trader" mentality comes in place.

Once has an option to utilize card fully and accumulate coin of their choice and second option is changing them everyday and cashing out- which went from $10 down to $3-4-  third option is -only accumulating BTC .
Obviously, you are your own master but my theory is- since card gives very good Zec/Skein - I should just stick with them and mine them wait for and up trend and then sell. I could be totally wrong and it could all fail but so could BTC and it could also go up by 10-20 fold.

That's my 2 cents. That's why I was looking for cards that would at the very least give good ROI.

I, apologize. 1070 = 570 lowest
1080ti = 980= lowest

However, dual 1070 = 1140 -980=160$  and you are chugging out more coins. So $160 premium

This is all in CAD

1080ti ---->   http://www.ncix.com/detail/evga-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-36-140446.htm     $980 = again CAD

You can try Nicehash or Winminer  to see if it  works  better for you

I was mining for 2 days using Winminer, I got an average of $ 10 a day with 2 1080ti and taking out the charges is close to $ 9.5. SIGT returns a little less, however it has the advantage of earning more if there is a currency high.

Not sure what miner I should be using, I swapped over from ZEC to SIGT using palginmod v1.1 and I'm only getting about 40MH/s

Weird, I couldn't break 90MH/s with 2 dedicated to mining it. They are both PNY 1080 ti Blower Editions. I have to leave now but I'll play around more with it later and relay what I find

53mh/s is too much for my 1080ti stock clock. I have best at 48mh/s by using krnlx. Never tried the ccminer 2.2 yet.

My latest private miner can do 54mh easy with my zotac amp extreme. OC and with 85% to reduce power. If 100% can get few more mh

I have 3 and I like them, not sure why I'm getting slightly less hash rates than others though. I also get slightly less when mining ZEC sometimes I can hit 700 sol/sec per card but its usually more like 640-650 on average per card.

Yeah I can't break 90mh/s with two after it has been running for 6 hours. Not sure why... Is it appropriate to post my computer info/drivers/miner for diagnosis in this thread?

Edit: could it be the pool? I use suprnova for everything.. I'll change in a minute and see what happens

Never mind, I played with a few different miners and now I'm hitting 101-107mh/s for 2 cards.
