I was asked a question in Russian section if traffic (specifically a password for an Elastic wallet) can be intercepted even while using HTTPS protocol with full SSL by a theoretically malicious server owner? I personally trust you guys, but you can't expect everyone to do that... As far as I know, "man-in-the-middle" attack is impossible here, but a password can be caught by keyloggers on the computer of one trying to connect to such a server. Should be possible with ease! If a malicious node hoster implements some sort of a key logger into the node's JS/HTML (which should be pretty easy) you will be pretty much screwed. Even if he uses SSL. So, never use any untrusted node at all!

It's launched! Where can I download the wallet? You should really update the thread's main page.

can we setup another password in the wallet?
First of all: The passphrase is everything that stands between your account and the rest of the world. Do not use any meaningful sentence, especially any that appears in song or literature. Please understand, that your account functions like a brain wallet: if two people use the same passphrase, they have access to the same XEL. If you lose your password, everything is gone! There are no internal backups or anything. So you have to make it very strong. What would the second password be intended for?

Perhaps that warning when redeeming "Your passphrase will be sent to the server" has him worried.

What would the second password be intended for? i remember when i use NXT clients years ago..i can choose my own password to access my NXT account... but today seems i can only use 12 random words, maybe it's more safe.

yes, why the server need my password? There are already some bets going on if it really sends the password to the server or if it doesn't. My bet is, that it doesn't, but I would not guarantee it yet. The best practice is to run a local node anyway, then you don't have to worry about such things.
