I was trying to get 4 BTC together so I could buy an Antminer S7.
I usually kept 3 BTC worth on Cryptsy for trading.
Live an learn.

I'm saving BTC and alts right now. I'm not ready to graduate from my S5. I have scrypt asics suckin up my electric right next to it also, so I am tapped out with the electricity atm...(so the gf says..) She would most likely not be happy if an S7 arrived...lol Our bill in the summer creeps up in the $400 range, one time $518..haha she freaked out, blamed my gear and not the 17 year old AC...(I live in hot a$$ FL. I will only complain about it during the summer..and 80+F degree Christmases..) then I had to explain to her the the dryer is rated @ 5400 watts because she saw spikes in the middle of the night in electric from me being a good bf and running the laundry while out in the shed vapin it up, watching *our*(she could care less) crypto "fortune" grow. She thought it was my gear again! lol

She actually didn't believe I could buy stuff with BTC so I sure showed her! The first thing I ever bought was to prove i could and it was one of those velcro door screens from overstock.com it was kinda funny.

My s2 was putting out 2.1 Thash (sha256) at 1200 watts. a s7 puts out 4.7 THash at 1000 watts. Seems like a good plan.
Guess I'll have to wait and see what happens with Cryptsy. Don't know if you were following the interview with Horus, but there is a rumor that Cryptsy is going to open enough for people to withdraw some alts.  we shall see

no I hadn't heard that about cryptsy. Hopefully people get their coins back.

If I could find a way to use the heat coming off the mining equipment to preheat the water going into the water heater I might get away with some new gear haha I have put ducting in so that most of the hot air is vented outside the shed. During the summer it'll get almost 100F inside without the air ducts and the door closed. https://youtu.be/36OK2WGaPwE bad res, no sound but shows what I am talking about.

I don't mine there so I don't know how they deal with stuff. I do know they where on different blockchain for a while, so that might have something to do with it.
mastermining is still down (for BTB).
I wonder if Cryptopia could add Bitbar to thier mining, I'll have to go check.
Maybe if other people are interested in mining at Cryptopia, they might add it ??

Unfortanatly at the time Cryptopia is having some problems with the mining pools and I dont think there adding anything till they get it running again.
I am going to try solo mining and see what happens but I have read alot of complaints saying that solo mined coins wont send out of the wallet.I will try it and see what happens.

You could ask Cryptopia to add it to their pools when they get the probs fixed,I am sure they will consider it  Wink

There are a few people here that want to solo mine, but can't figure it out. If you are successful, maybe you could put together a step by step tutorial on how to do it, and I can add it to http://bitbar.co   Smiley

No prob man,I have it up and running so we just need to wait and see if I generate a block or not,I will post an update ASAP  Grin

EDIT:
Ok so solo ming seems to be working for me,I am on the network and detecting new blocks.
This is my conf file and launch commands,I am using cgminer 3.1.1 hope it helps.

Conf - bitbar.conf file goes in AppData/Roaming/BitBar folder:
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=YOURNAME
rpcpassword=YOURPASSWORD
rpcallowip=localhost
rpcthreads=499
rpcport=9344
addnode=144.76.91.109:8777
addnode=108.61.10.90:8777
addnode=167.160.36.162:8777
addnode=77.97.78.131:8777
addnode=89.27.70.48:8777
addnode=109.228.4.100:8777
addnode=173.65.129.85:8777
addnode=5.20.100.185:8777

Launch - I use a .bat file in the cgminer folder to launch the miner :
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://localhost:9344 -u NAME -p PASSWORD --chips-count 6 --ltc-clk 321 --nocheck-golden -S //./COM6 -S //./COM7 -S //./COM13

It appears there may be another fork that a majority amount of miners have switched to.

The coin daemon and explorer at CCE are in sync with each other but there are only a half dozen or so peers connected to the daemon.

So again, the community needs to decide which fork to use. The issue I have is which chain should I try to resync the coin daemon on CCE, if I should resync at all.

OMG, I'm glad I got out of this fuckup, what a scam I got into in 2013.

I lost around 100 bitcoin on this forkfest of a coin/bar/bullshit/bagholder/shitbar.

Why don't you people let go.........I did, and I'm much happier for it..........it's going nowhere, never has, never will!

Someone please tell me how to remove this thread from my unread posts list pleeeeeeeeeaaaaase!!!!!!!!!

That is a good question - we will have to come up with a decision fairly quickly so as to not let this draw out like last time.

The community should go with the fork that BTER and Cryptopia hopefully are both on. Default to the exchanges, and always addnode the exchanges in your wallet.

That is the way I'm leaning - keep the exchanges and the pools happy, plus the fork the explorer is on isn't moving at all.
btw I transfered 20 btb to Bter but it never showed - so they might not be on the same fork as cryptopia and ispace.

I have had success mining and receiving payouts at hash-to-coins.com. But haven't sent any to an exchange since Cryptsy.

I might try the solo mining thing above. i like bfgminer but never could get it to solo mine with my asics. i see cgminer is used above.

I don't understand why bitbar keeps forking. Whats different in the code from other coins that don't act in the manner bitbar has?

Yea I am a bfgminer fan too but it always refused to solo mine for me so I had to move to an alternative.Theres a couple out there but this one works best IMO.Good luck.

We need to figure this fork thing out fast though,I dont know if I should buy or sell.I've been buying at Cryptopia but need to know if we are staying on that fork before spending more BTC.

Code wise, it's the same as just about every other crypto out there. You can basically cut and paste from one to the other.
I think the biggest problem is the spread (or lack of) of hashing power. We could use some more pools.

And votes at https://safecex.com/coin/add?q=BTB  Smiley
