Until a payment processor pops up that offers buyer protection for cash transactions, I don't think cash will go mainstream.
Now read it again. You don't give away cash to an un-trusted person unless you're willing to take the risk. I just thoguht of something - What about a BITCOIN CREDIT CARD! Only problem is the money changes so durastically.

It would have been easier to send BTC had terrahash just shown proof of an avalon order. I understand fully that you had to place an order of 10,000 in order to receive a full brick of 30 sample chips, but those very well could have been purchased second hand for the sole purpose of slapping them on a board to generate pre-sales.

they changed their shipping deal because they set it up wrong:
Standard Shipping: $ 50.00 TerraHash Hosting ? (Free) Local Pickup (Free)
Expedited was deleted as an option, but it used to be there and used to be $25 and I nabbed it when it was there.

Actually noticed it was cheaper to have 2 separate orders of 3 and 1 K64s than just an order of 4. Expedited shipping was $200 for 4 or $100 for 3 and $50 for 1.
Ditto. Trust me I sell stuff on Paypal all the time there is little to no risk if within the first 30 days you file a claim. There is practically no protection for sellers it is all slanted toward buyers. So, I'm rooting for you guys. I really am. What kept me from ordering is I don't think there's anything to claim with Paypal or with Amex if TH doesn't deliver in 30 days. Their T's & C's mention nothing about immediate delivery. In fact, they say that delivery is highly dependent on Avalon, and that they will have 2 weeks to start shipping after Avalon does. So if 30 days rolls around and Avalon hasn't shipped chips yet, is that basis to file a claim with Paypal/Amex?

Exactly!IMO, you guys are funding their chip orders. The pix of sample chips don't have the standard white page with sharpie stating "terrahash" or "erschiessen is a douche". The "TERRAHASH" you read is superimposed on each pic with WordArt using PowerPoint. No offense to the n00bs claiming to have been there, but: BULLSHIT! GFY, f#@?ing scammers, You would have posted pics, as even my piece of shit cell has a friggin camera. Soory, folks. You have gotten ass-raped.

+1 (I believe 30 days with paypal is the limit?) so if you had enough of waiting beyond 30 days, does terrahash offer a refund? and..AMEX interest isn't cheap either.... TH T's and C's - Despite what was said on this board, there is clearly no mention of refunds or pre-order cancellations Terms & Conditions We provide a 2 year warranty on all our products. If there is a defect, or a product is dead on arrival, please contact us. You will have to ship the product back to us, and we will try to repair it within a reasonable time. In case we can’t repair it, we will send you a similar or a higher capacity product. In case of a pre-order, we can not make an accurate prediction when we will be able to ship you the product. Any dates given on the order page are our best estimates only. Shipping dates depend upon when we receive the chips from Avalon. Once we have the chips, we will start shipping the orders within 2 weeks. We won’t be responsible for any delays in receiving chips from Avalon. We accept Bitcoins, PayPal and Wire Transfer as payment. Some of our products may require additional components and/or an advanced knowledge of electronics. Please make sure you know how to use our products before ordering, we will not provide any support other than any downloadable drivers/software available publicly on our website. Please make sure you enter the correct address while ordering. We are not responsible for incorrectly entered addresses in case a package is lost.

And for what it's worth, Paypal in the US gives you 45 days to file a claim.

in their website FAQ, it says "Q. Do you issue refunds?
A. We can refund your order if it has not been shipped. Once your order is shipped, we won’t be able to issue you a refund."
Hope it is a truthful promise.

A failure to state anything about refunds means they cannot deny us refunds legally they did not explicitly state no refunds accepted.

what makes you think that, the influx of pre-orders and a queue\assembly time, or actual chip availability? +1 (I believe 30 days with paypal is the limit?) so if you had enough of waiting beyond 30 days, does terrahash offer a refund? and..AMEX interest isn't cheap either....

Priceless. And the scammers on E-bay who thought they were going to double their money in less than 30 days are whining about the price increase, that prevents them from doubling their money. Priceless again.

Sorry for not being able to update in the last couple days. Before giving any justifications, I just wanna reiterate something: In order to be a scam, we have to be taking money from people. What kind of an elaborate scam would this be, if we don't even take any money.
Company Registration: We were registered under a different name in Delaware, but our lawyer said that since we are going to have a heavy presence in the state of California (our offices, and production facility), it would be wiser to just register in California. And the California Secretary of State's office takes a little while to process the registration papers. We have already sent in our papers and hope to get registered in a day or two.
Office Location: Those of who are in the Silicon Valley will agree with me when I say that it's really really hard to find a small manufacturing/industrial space for leasing. We are looking for about 1000-1500 square feet of industrial space where we could install our SMT assembly line. But most of the industrial spaces start at 10,000 to 20,000 square feet. The address mentioned on our website (1261 birchwood), is marked as an "R&D" place. We signed the lease, but found it to be unfit for our purpose. We need a cleaner and controlled environment for our machines. But we have been very busy looking at different places for a week now, and we have found a nice place on Montague in Santa Clara, and will finalize it by the end of this week.
Domain: Well, the privacy setting was turned on by default. I will soon turn it off and enter our own address/phone number etc. We have nothing to hide.
So please give me a couple of days, I will post evidence about: the company registration, financial documents, the progress we have made for designing the case for the DXs, pictures of our new office, etc. Once we move in to our new place, all of you would be more than welcome to come visit us.
^^The above is from May 13th, a month ago. They have accepted Paypal, so presumably those paying by credit card will have some extensive buyer protection, especially Amex, which is worth the fees in this case. You are still blind as to when they ordered their chips, which makes or breaks it relative to all the other bulk orders. They seem to be cagey about sharing these details, but they have received samples. A 64 chip board may be problematic as well. I just don't get why they would open now, when they could wait a couple of days and supposedly show you a working 16 board...
