Am much more interested in receiving email acknowledging the BTC I sending them for my orders.  BTC seeming to have just disappeared once received on their end.

Whoa, you paid in BTC and your order status hasn't changed yet?

I received an email from TH this morning. I hope Paypal doesn't fuck him over (highly likely due to giant influx of funds). Just selling game codes on ebay took them 21 days (not sure if business days or not) for them to release the funds because I had sold less than 25 things on ebay even though I have over 10 reviews of perfect feedback. But I paid with Paypal just for some protection. Maybe TerraHash should use authorize.net? Don't flame me, I only know its a CC processor, I have no idea what their policies are.

I did not receive a payment confirmation with my btc payment either, so I called them.  Gave them my order #, and they confirmed they received my payment.  They also sent me a email 2 days after I called them.

If the issue is strictly one of liquidity on TH's part, I don't see where it is right to cancel PayPal orders.  If I was receiving my unit in the next 21 days I'd understand why TH needs his liquid cash for payment.  Since that is not the case, those orders should stand and TH will get his money released in due time.  The PayPal guarantee works both ways and the money has already been out of my account since 9:00:28 on the 18th. Ditching PayPal now would imply that it wont be an option in the future...Growing pains hurt, but you're a better company for getting through them.

I'll put it on a CC and get miles in the process if it comes to that, but if all this is just to get CloudHashing his money back...I'm not so eager to jump through more hoops to satisfy a different disgruntled customer.

No.  The issue is standard protocol with Paypal unfortunately.  As previous members have mentioned, and from my own experience selling a lot on ebay, your accounts can get frozen randomly.  Even established accounts are not immune.  I have heard in extreme cases it can take 1-2 months.  You also do not get a definitive answer as to when funds are released.

Regarding earning miles, when you used paypal, using a CC would have been fine as well.  That was the option I used.
Returning funds also shouldn't be an issue as there are a number of investors I'm sure they could lean on if they chose to go in that direction.

TerraHash needs to get CC processing:
http://www.costco.com/merchant-account.html
Would probably save a lot more then PayPal charges and easier for the rest of us.

RE: PayPal

I don't really care, was just making a point.  Take my $900 in cash or I'll put it on a CC...makes no difference.

Would just be nice to be done with the ordering process and not feel like if I don't check in to the forum or sit on my email for a few days I won't get bumped in line and have my order cancelled.  That is really my point, by my bank this was settled last week.

I believe he actually is setting that up. He said it should be done by Friday Smiley

And I received my email this morning. I believe everyone received the same e-mail? For those of you who have not received one, here you go.

Quote
Sorry for taking so long for this order status update.

Here is the update:

PayPal has still not released the hold on our funds. We are still talking to them and trying to get the hold lifted. If something does not work out, we might have to refund all the PayPal orders. In that case we will give all the PayPal customers an option to hold their spot by paying with Credit Card, BTC or Bank Transfer. We have already been approved for a merchant account for Credit Card processing, and the bank will take 2-3 days to setup our account. We are still hopeful that PayPal will release our funds and we won't have to take this step of refunding all the PayPal orders. If not, as soon as our Merchant Account for Credit Card processing is set up by the bank (hopefully before Friday), we will mass-refund all the PayPal orders.

In case of a PayPal mass refund, certainly a lot of customers will fail to repay and hold their spot, resulting in many orders moving up the queue. So please give us another 2-3 days to resolve the issue with PayPal and decide the next step.

Thanks you.

we should also collect ... data about payment method and status of orders ... we would get much more transparency of our eta ... and where it goes ...

for example....

bank wire, status: on-hold, payment: 19.06.2013

and so on ... :-)

My Credit Card has already been charged by Pay Pal TerraHash. So they should be able to get the money from Pay Pal if they don't already have it. My account still says processing. Huh

Same status here on my account/order. Im not a paypal expert, but I think with new or large orders, paypal holds" or more or less has a lean on the money and can hold it. TH is under review, so I am thinking paypal simply is not actually releasing the funds (our order money ) as they are on the hook to reimburse us within 45 days if we are not happy. If they release that money to TH and then something goes south for TH, and the funds are all spent, then paypal will have to cough up the money for all of us, and seprately try to persue getting their (paypal) monies back from TH after repaying us first. So thats my thinking. anyone who knows more on paypal this way, chime in here...lol,,I am not the expert Smiley

No it actually is not. Second tab says if you paid or not, hence if you paid the order is processing... It's all on the second tab if you paid or not, cancelled etc. payment type does not really matter as long as you paid or not so.

Paypal likes to put 21 day holds on funds for new merchants, established ebay sellers who start selling in a different category or there's a change in their sales pattern, anyone who has a sudden large influx of money, etc. basically any excuse they can come up with to hold your money for 21 days, and then if 'in their sole discretion' they decide something isn't on the up and up, they have been known to freeze people's accounts so they can no longer accept payments, get to their money or anything else, and keep your money for 180 days before they'll release it.

I've had an ebay and paypal account for over 10 years now and have been an occasional seller; never had a single complaint registered or chargeback filed; and sold an item on ebay after having not sold anything for awhile, under $200, and paypal locked the funds on me.  Paypal has always been bad, but they got even worse after ebay bought them.
