It depends on you and you coin that you are holding.If the coin that you are holding is potential and has a good future, has a good team, has real life use then I would say just hold.holding alt coin is my favorite hobby.every year I try to hold some new ALT coin and I may able to earn good profit from them.So holding is also a good way for earning money.

I believe that holding altcoin too long is very risky as you never know when the price of altcoin will crash and how long it will take its price to recover back so its good to sell them off when you are making good profits and buy them back when price drops and when it comes to bitcoins I prefer to hold it for a long term to make higher profits in future.

If Bitcoin in future have can growth to the moon, the altcoin market will growth too. This situation very reasonable because most investor want buy Bitcoin because they hope can earn money from Bitcoin, then they will know beyond holding Bitcoin still have many type investment can helps us get rich fast than holding Bitcoin.

Altcoins took a serious dip since june. If i´s money you can wait for i would wait and hold. Selling now will make you loose a lot and many if not all the alts listed in polo are expected to come to all time highs again this year. For profit sake it depends on what you mean. Is it profit against BTC or FIAT. Alts might seem down against BTC but with BTC so high you could still be making a profit in FIAT - do you r maths. For the last question - if you should sell high and buy low, for definition you should hold at the bottom, wait to go up and sell.

I agree with you that every coin have an possibility to pump after they a dump that happen. As we can see to the price history of every coin their is dump but after that they become pump and reach their all time high. It is better to hold than to sell now and wait for the coming pump on the specific coin  and earn some profit from it.

no doubt that bitcoin price can take a correction, but it will not go down for l a big dept, I think it will continue increasing for a long time, but once the correction period is over. i am hopeful that this time the price of bitcoin will cross 5000$ easily and will further proceed tell the end of this year.

I agree with you that every coin have an possibility to pump after they a dump that happen. As we can see to the price history of every coin their is dump but after that they become pump and reach their all time high. It is better to hold than to sell now and wait for the coming pump on the specific coin  and earn some profit from it.

Yes if you have invested in good altcoin then even dump should not make you bother as it will surely pump again in future so holding it for the right price is the best thing to do and don't forget you can make huge profits in altcoins which may never be possible with bitcoins.

I agree with you there. I'm not letting myself get used to this high prive since itbcan break anytime. Even now btc has dipped and some people would already become anxious about this. So don't think about anything and just hold tight.

Hold your coins as you can. Holding coin is very effective way to double or even triple your money. I can say that if you hold many bitcoins today, you can be a millionaire in the future.

They say hodl is the way to go. I am sceptic about this. Sometimes it is just better for your nerves to decrease exposure. On the other hand, if I hodled all the coins I ever bought I would be stinking rich.

Long term speaking, hodling is indeed the way to go. If that hasn't been clear yet to the people by now, I seriously don't know when they will ever realize that. Short term speaking, cashing out profits isn't all that bad. In cases where the price has peaked at such a level, where you expect a correction to be due, it only makes sense to cash out some of your profits. It will allow you to buy back and increase the number of coins that you have -- who doesn't want that?

What it happens is that holding is not sexy enough, holding seems boring for a lot of people and they prefer to try their luck in trading without having any idea of how things really work, many people have the idea that the more they do the more productive they are but sometimes the most productive thing you can do is to wait.

waiting Is productive thing but one thing make it more productive with wait, if you work while waiting then you will get more then you imagine because just waiting gives you good amount but wait + work can give you even better, and the thing you said become boring while holding can also be remove by work while holding.

Well, there is something called active waiting, we can wait but that does not mean we do not have to do anything while you are waiting for your bitcoin to go up in value, you can try to earn more bitcoin, maybe you can try offering your services in the forum or maybe you could sell some digital products or even some physical goods in exchange of bitcoin.

Yes, you need to hold the coins if you think one day their value will increase. But some coins won't increase their value. So it is a risk to hold them and not sell them. Sometimes, it can be better to sell the coins if after some months or year, the coin don't move as you expect. Because maybe you could buy other more profitable coins to regain your lost. It is not easy to regain the amount of coins you lose. But it is possible.

I think you're taking things a bit too serious here. People obviously should phrase their meaning in a better and more understandable way, but it should be clear what they try to say if you think logically.

It all comes down that people aren't willing to sell their coins in the short term, which for one might be a few months, and for others at least a few years

I am more or less in the latter category ~ I am not planning to sell any of my coins (aside from the occasional trading that I do) if the price doesn't at least reach a certain price level.

Bitcoin in current form is still a tiny asset in comparison to various other traditional assets. It shows that we have an incredible amount of growth to gain in the coming years ~ hodl is the only thing that makes sense now.
