YACoin 0.4.9 Official Release!
Notable features include:
- built-in block explorer
- price fetcher - located in the block explorer or with the command "getyacprice" in the command-line interface (requires server.pem file)
- built-in CPU miner added back in (activate with gen=1)
- LevelDB in place of Berkeley DB
- Various 'clean-up' items in the code--setting the stage for YACoin 1.0.0

YACoin 0.4.9 'officially' released. Binaries on yacoin.org have been updated. The Github repo master has been updated and 0.4.9 source code available under "releases."

YACoin has been out unofficially for a long time. But the final touches and testing was just completed. Feedback is very welcome. There is no pool, but many CPUs are profitable mining YACoin even in this depressed crypto-ecosystem.

are you still connected to any peers?  getPeerInfo, etc.  If so, then that's OK.  Otherwise just wait and you will get more nodes.

Here is an updated bootset for 0.4.9 for now. In the near future, there will be a better way to bootstrap the entire dataset without have to sync the wallet from the beginning.

Hi Guys,

Been using old wallet, but no connections for last 24 hours
Tried 4.9, same, no peers....
Explorer doesnt show any...
How do we find some please?
J

Finally, after nearly 27 hours, wallet all synced....1 node....BUT why everytime i launch wallet does it re-verify last 700+ blocks, it takes over 15 mins to open wallet each time....crazy
Also, is 0.4.9 on correct chain cos it says "TESTING" ?

I think that this configuration was wrong, because it spent a few hours and could not find any blocks, then I did a test with auto-tuning after a few hours also no block.

I'd take hashrates from ccminer with a grain of salt. The way YACoin's difficulty currently adjusts, there isn't a good way to check your actual share rate / profitability. It will be addressed soon though.

Biggest problem with YACoin, is how long the wallet takes to load.
Using an SSD, Ryzen 7 system, it can take 10-15 mins to load, and then it repeatedly says" not responding". Tried both 4.4 and 4.9...over 2 diff pc's (1 Win 7 , 1 Win 10)

Other issue is, we need a pool....my hash rate is 14kh/s and current net hash is 1200kh/s (usually 2500kh/s upwards) so virtually no chance to solo mine.

The network is well below the minimum difficulty, so the total hashrate is meaningless. At 14 kH/s, you should be find a block every 1-2 days.

It shouldn't take too long to load. Make sure you close it running in the background whenever you do a restart.

Hi, erm, i know it shouldnt take too long to load, but they are my load times across to different PCs, everytime...i even did a full clean install Win 7 and Win 10, and still useless...
Also, 1 block every 1-2 days, really....it takes 10 blocks to earn $1, so it will take me 10-20 days to earn 1$1, that makes this coin completely out of touch with reality...such a shame
I think it needs forking, and modernising.

Yes indeed. Upgrade fork is coming soon.

I don't have any issues running the current wallet. Try waiting 1-2 minutes to see if it works. If not, try removing all files (except your wallet.dat of course), and reload using the bootset. https://mega.nz/#!LV1kgCyY!QNgcO_W3ga9OEygvwGPS6ltsTdxWq-pRL89j2d0cemw

Thanks, just trying, but ARGH ! "verifying last 666 blocks", that stage takes at least 10-15 mins every time...why?

If you use the bootset for 0.4.9 and run yQt.bat (pointed to YACoinDataDirectory), you should see that speed up. Ron can comment on that further. It was another improvement with 0.4.9.
