Use the bootstrap and just use 0.4.4 qt and daemon files https://mega.nz/#!iEVjzCpB!3Qfb-QCX_EIQUgmeGQHhYc5XbYtvyZEKbLSKslLFUM0 Thanks, just trying, but ARGH ! "verifying last 666 blocks", that stage takes at least 10-15 mins every time...why? If you use the bootset for 0.4.9 and run yQt.bat (pointed to YACoinDataDirectory), you should see that speed up. Ron can comment on that further. It was another improvement with 0.4.9. [/quote] Oh mate, i can't believe it, seriously been PMSL, i have tried this about 8 times now on each of 2 machines....so i have just tried again as per your suggestion....everything is different....not verifying 666 blocks, but only 15, so wallet opened, and re-closed....copied over my .dat file, opened in about 1-2 mins max, and is now syncing.....syncing is verry slow, but wallet is working I don't know why i have had so many probs over last 3 weeks with tis wallet, but seems fine now. So a massive Thankyou. oh btw, got my hashrates mixed up (they were for Ultracoin). I get 23 H/s with YACin, and nethash was 653H/s last time i checked, so i'm roughly 1/25th of total net hash. Once again Thankyou...hopefully mining in 379 blocks....wow, this sync is slowwww.

I'll try to keep the bootset relatively up-to-date. For those familiar with docker containers, that will be another way to mitigate sync times in a user-friendly way. Yes, UTC is a lot different being at NFactor 14. The best way to see how many blocks you get per day is by testing and seeing the direct results yourself.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Do NOT use YoBit. You will notice that it says "Wallet status: Maintenance." It will say that for eternity. What they are doing is soliciting bribes in order to update the wallet AFTER I informed them of the update.
Do NOT try to send them bribes: 1) It is wrong. If in exchange uses bribes as part of their business model (aside from trading fees), they are not to be trusted--as has been proven many times in the past. 2) YoBit isn't a reputable exchange. There is no reason to give them benefit of the doubt. There is no doubt.
If you are mining YACoin or just want to get rid of your YACoin, message me. I am looking to buy.

YACoin 0.4.9 Official Release!Notable features include:- built-in block explorer - price fetcher - located in the block explorer or with the command "getyacprice" in the command-line interface (requires server.pem file) - built-in CPU miner added back in (activate with gen=1) - LevelDB in place of Berkeley DB - Various 'clean-up' items in the code--setting the stage for YACoin 1.0.0YACoin 0.4.9 'officially' released. Binaries on yacoin.org have been updated. The Github repo master has been updated and 0.4.9 source code available under "releases." YACoin has been out unofficially for a long time. But the final touches and testing was just completed. Feedback is very welcome. There is no pool, but many CPUs are profitable mining YACoin even in this depressed crypto-ecosystem. How do I mine with less cpu threads than the maximum allowed with the built - in CPU Miner? Thanks.

This project looks very promising. It seems to me that this coin has a very big future. Most likely an investment in this coin can make a profit.

All projects can be very good, depending on how the teams that are in it. what the team does not intend to register these coins to exchange more and bigger? This will bring a positive influence to the project.

Ignore what I said. Setting "genproclimit=#" in the conf file should work. Set "#" to the number of threads you want to use.

Are you guys looking for an exchange? I can put you on altilly.com
Mike
I was looking into altilly.com. It looked great to me. It would be fantastic to have another exchange for YACoin. But I would keep confirmations required high (like 100) for the time being. I think that altilly.com will have more volume in the next future time. May be around half or one year from now. Yacoin is good enough for surviving in cryptocurrency. I think that altilly.com is good for us. And also may be we should consider more than this. ( should consider Cryptopia , Bittrex , etc ). I reached out to Mike, but I haven't heard a response yet. I like the idea of supporting up-and-coming exchanges. A lot of the big exchanges seem to be in the business of requiring huge bribes. They will also delist coins after receiving bribes! I'd rather be on a smaller exchange with at least some morals. A problem that YACoin is having is a severe lack of communication out of YoBit. It is important to have the one exchange onboard with the upcoming network upgrade. Yacoin is very good coin but it isn't enough communicate to trader & public. I think that Yacoin can grow more than this. May be rank in Coinmarketcap should not over than 100.

NEW EXCHANGE VOTINGIt will be great to get on another exchange. YACoin has been added to the voting list on altilly.com! So if you think it is worth a few pennies per vote (have to vote with ATLI tokens), then please do! https://www.altilly.com/page/coinvote

Hi, Biggest reason this coin wont get on an exchange, is the wallet. I have tried this coin so many times now, but saw this latest post and thought lets give it 1 more shot. Downloaded 0.4.9, (full blockchain version), followed all instructions to the letter....wallet opens withing 20-30 seconds (a vast improvement) BUT...even thought i have 6 connections, a very fast pc, and very fast connection, i started with over 7000 blocks to download, and 24 hours on, i still have 6400 blocks to download. This has always been the major issue....at this rate it will be over a week (if not 2) before i sync and can even start to mine it. Until this is fixed, miners let alone exchanges cannot accept this coin. I have nearly 1000 coins / wallets from 2013 to present day, and this is up there with the very worst for syncing. If anyone can help speed it up, please let me know. That said, the other thing which i think is keeping it from exchanges, is the double edged sword....NF19 Yes it makes it quite unique, but it also rules out virtually every miner...who wants to chuck a very fast pc using a ton of power, to not even get 1 block a day. NF19 stuffs ASICS, fine, but it basically means this is a coin only for the 1080ti rig guys, so its only for the rich....but even then, its block reward and value are so low, thats its hardly worth them pointing a rig at it. To open up the miner base, i suggest dropping to at least NF17, maybe lower, and having at least 2 pools. (actually better to have NF change randomly from say NF14 to NF18) Do that and i think it could be a very very good coin. I'll throw a weeks worth of hash at it, if i ever get it to sync. J
