Can't believe that in this thread the major discussion is whether or not Cannabis should be legal or is harmfull. Thought young people who spend time here understood that Cannabis is harmless.

I would like more discussion about the actual project, how the tokens are used, etc. Though i like the project it is still a bit hard for me to visualize. I'm hoping the team can offer some concrete more concrete examples.  Because i do believe this sector really offers good opportunities and we need crypto/blockchain in here for something else then just tokens to buy weed (like other Cannabis tokens are)
if the buying/selling  Cannabis is illlegal, then this project may cannot run!
so this is important!

which is why the project will probably focus on areas where the law is on their side, as starting points.

When you buy from PARAGON you know what you buy, the moment the seed was planted, what nutrients, all the information about the soil, ...

When you buy you know you dont buy crappy shit.
Only high quality from PARAGON

Well, I don't think paragon will sell anything.

They just provide the blockchain technology, I don't think they are directly involved with the cannabis products.

Yeah, I think I agree we're ready to move on to another subject Grin

So what about those ParagonCoins (PRG)? What do they bring to the table, why are they necessary and what value do they have?

I'm not so convinced about this use-case:

Really, pay-to-vote? I'm used to Reddit's free voting so maybe I'm out of the loop. Guess I'll have to check out what drives people to pay to vote on Steemit.

you make some really good points.

i've heard Paragon Online will be the first part of the project to launch, but little else about that. I'd love to hear more. It's an interesting idea--but I can't really see what makes it compelling to pay for...

I've just read the whitepaper and got interested in the project.
The number 1 reason why I think this will work is because Weed Legalization has only just begun and when more and more states and countries will join in they aren't likely to adapt the old, inefficient way of doing things. Why would they if the blockchain and smart contracts are so much better, simpler and cost efficient.

if you don't have 25.000$ for investing , you didn't miss anything. They just sold to big investor with minimum contribution was 25.000$, i don't believe any of us bought some. Pre-sale is continuing for 12 more days. If you have 15.000$ you can invest in 2 days, if you have 10.000$ you can invest other 10 days. They are trusting their project to bring big investors and it's working.

Just wait ico with us Smiley

I think this team is really ambitious but the alcohol industry is very strong and will not be amused of a competitor. Also Medicine Industry.

Actually i am not sure about this kind of contents benefit. Yes it shows hype and interest but it also look unprofessional. A big investor never decide to invest with this kind of stuff.

Official videos or institutional videos always the best.

In counties where is legal to sell cannabis, does the seller have to provide you with all the information about the product? For example in the Netherlands coffee shops can sell you weed but they cant buy it or grow it, so for sure they cannot provide you with all the info about the background.
So how will Paragon deal with this issue? Where will they get all the information's? I know about plant tracking software, but if you cant grow marijuana legally, how will you be able to monitor it?

I think that's the point where Paragon comes in. As I understand they want to help to legalize cannabis, from growing to selling so that you don't have this problem anylonger. Like for example the Netherlands, it is just tolarated, but not legal. But if Paragon helps to legalize the whole process from growing the plants to selling them to the customers, the shop can also provide the informations etc.

What? Alcohol industry competitor to cannabis industry? Thats totally different worlds which interests can coexist and benefit from each other successes. If someone like vodka then he'll dring a vodka. If someone wants to smoke, he'll smoke, thats it.  Cool

Different products that have different consequences, it all depends on what that person was subjected first, but yeah, alcohol won't interfere with the cannabis industry, cannabis has medical uses, so the medical industry will use it, so it will be in different markets for differents purposes. Alcohol industry is already big and widespread, so nothing to do with cannabis, nor laboratories want to test beer for medical purposes, you won't find any doctor recommend drinking wine as a remedy, even if wine is good for health.

Exactly, there are many use cases for cannabis and alcohol. Both of this products can be used for fun/entertainment or for medical purposes. And both of them are dangerous when overdosed  Smiley

There's a fundemental difference, cannabis with zero THC doesn't get you high, alcohol get you drunk always if you abuse it. Also alcohol is more dangerous, with an high percentage of it in your blood you can die due to respiratory arrest. And alcohol as medicine? No way
