Yeah... to be clear, I WOULD have given Craptopia another chance IF they would have done the right thing and at least offered my partial compensation for the losses I incurred due to their bad security. But the fact that they didn't offer me anything and portrayed a very callous attitude through the entire matter... making false assertions and trying to put all the blame on me, etc... that's when i said enough is enough. So, I take every chance I can get to blast those MFers and make sure everyone knows about it, in hopes that it will eventually cost them more in lost customers than what they should have returned to me ;-)

I would probably done the same - under your circumstances.

Putting the blame on customers rather than finding out the truth, owning responsibility and fixing it -- would be the final straw for me too.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

About those D3s....Although yes bitmain flooded the market, along with others, it was quite obvious the difficulty adjustment was going to be brutal once the batches start rolling out.  The whole gamble was to be the first to get the ASIC and pay it off in a few days.  But yeah, just mine and hold and wait for a big pump or something.  Your friend shouldnt be crying, consider it a lesson learned plus we cant predict the future either.

Apparently there's a brand new nicehash alternative in the making:
https://notnicehash.com

One nice thing about Nicehash... ease of use, nice interface and BTC payout upfront - no waiting for confirmation of various coins BS etc.

The site you mentioned probably better matched for MRR but MRR is highly matured site with a very large customer base - me included. Hard to beat MRR in my opinion.

NH to earn their reputation again -- needs to come clean and pay everyone whatever that was stolen - that gesture itself I think will give them a chance to come back on top again. The sad part is that NH is one of kind and the demise would be a big loss to the mining community esp for newbies.

I agree. I'm giving nicehash a second chance.
One of my 10 rigs is still there now, if they'll offer daily Bitcoin Cash (BCH) payouts I'll move all my rigs there.

so what's this nicehash deal - they aren't going to pay the old balances unless they are .1btc or they just aren't paying the new balances until the balance reaches .1btc?

They said they are paying everyone the end of Jan.  Don't think they had a minimum balance stipulation for owed balances from the theft.  The new minimum balances were put in place so they don't have to pay the crazy transaction fees while they work with coinbase to secure some kind of deal to avoid fees altogether.

if you mine to an external wallet  you now need to reach 0.1 for it to be paid.

I am fine with that.

I am not fine with mining to 3 external wallets for a few days before I was told this.

I would be at

 0.0672 wallet 1
 0.0171 wallet 2
 0.0105 wallet 3

0.0948  in one wallet  and over the 0.1 some time tomorrow.

now once wallet 1 goes over the 0.1
i need to mine everything on wallet 2  get it over 0.1
then mine everything to wallet 3  get it over 0.1

and they should not have change payout rules on me after I mined  into the 3 wallets.

It all would be so much easier if you would be able to transfer your external wallet balance into an internal one... but that's unfortunately not feasible as you would have to prove ownership of the external wallet somehow... How dumb.

Ah ok, I think that reads differently than the initial announcement a week ago.  Now I'm even more skeptical of anyone getting paid.

Ah ok, I think that reads differently than the initial announcement a week ago.  Now I'm even more skeptical of anyone getting paid.
They sent an email to customers (sellers only I believe) saying they were going to pay on Jan 31st. Then they said it was a mistake and came up with this second version. Very unprofessional/shady. I did point my miners back to them though, and I got a payment yesterday with no issues. They have announced also that:
- They are integrating with coinbase for 0 fee payments
- They are adding other coins as form of payment
- External investors will be putting money for the "old balance" payments.
I think they will try to pay and the investors story makes sense, there are rumors that coinbase is one of the "investors". If you think about it, nicehash has a lot of customers and it's a valuable company. The only question is if it's worth 60M or more, if it is, people will get paid IMHO.

1080's have a tiny bit better than 1070 Ti's?

If you aim for max efficiency, 1070 ti will at least match and usually beat 1080 hashrate in the 100-110 watt power range at the same power usage.
This depends on the card model and sometimes the specific card, I've only seen ONE match situation on "same model" cards, my Zotac Mini 1080 vs my Zotac Mini 1070 ti - but that's a case of the 1080 Mini I have being THE BEST 1080 I have in that power range by a bit.

If you push for higher hashrates at the cost of efficiency, the 1080 starts outhashing the 1070 ti typically around 120-125 watt level but never outhashes a same-model 1070 ti by the common 10% cost differential, presuming same power level on each card.

*IF* you can get a "same model" 1080 for the same price or within 2-3 % of a 1070ti, it's probably worth doing IMO - otherwise no.
