i m so curious to know what will be the new algo , and sto frustrated to dont know when and dont have any news about it

You are not alone, mate!

Anybody has something like a changelog for the newer firmware 1.1? I really dont like the silence of Baikal. Suddenly theres a new firmware uploaded (but no announcment). So what is it all about, Baikal? Please keep us a bit more up2date. We feel a bit abandoned.

i wonder why baikal not makes 3rd batch for x10 there are so many ppl who would buy it

Easy, because they can make more profit selling Giant B.

But some ppl cant pay 4000 usd for giant b, thats why some ppl want x10 because its cheaper.

p.s maybe someone knows what profit actually would be per day with x10 vs baikal giant b?

Some have speculated that they will announce a 3rd batch at the same time they announce the new algos. My best guess right now is that they would do this after the B has shipped.

wonder when that is going to happen and how long we will need to wait till we can order x10 again, end of January?

Until I get them, I try to find the best pool and so I have try a lot dofferend pools. For me idcray work well but the payout could be higher :/

@s2.altcoinix.com/xvg/public/ : This pool was also nice but to much issues and I don't get my mined coins! I'm not sure if I should try them now again, maybe I will again lose my mined coins?

Guys, need some help

I was digging the filesystems and i found the command history where they compile sgminer and delete the source. I'm now trying to recover the deleted files using Photorec, i could recover more than 10k files and i found many lines like this :

f2324728.txt:[14:01:58] Submitting share 6ee85517 to blakecoin.mine.zpool.ca
f2324728.txt:[14:01:58] Accepted 6ee85517 Diff 2.308/2.000 BKLU 1 at blakecoin.mine.zpool.ca
f2324728.txt:[14:02:03] Submitting share 27ae407c to blakecoin.mine.zpool.ca
f2324728.txt:[14:02:03] Submitting share 46243b3e to blakecoin.mine.zpool.ca
f2324728.txt:[14:02:03] Accepted 27ae407c Diff 6.451/2.000 BKLU 0 at blakecoin.mine.zpool.ca
f2324728.txt:[14:02:03] Accepted 46243b3e Diff 3.650/2.000 BKLU 0 at blakecoin.mine.zpool.ca
f2324728.txt:[14:02:05] Submitting share 46994046 to blakecoin.mine.zpool.ca
f2324728.txt:[14:02:05] Accepted 46994046 Diff 3.626/2.000 BKLU 7 at blakecoin.mine.zpool.ca

the problem is the photorec recovers the file with different filename like:
f0755216.txt  f0762000.gz   f0767984.txt   f0769472.h     f0770816.c  f0771216.h  f0771712.c     f0786984.txt  f0788464.h    f0808320.elf   f0819912.txt  f0820216.txt   f0820496.txt
Its very difficult to figure out whats the original file name.
I need the original /home/baikal/sgminer folder and contents

The reason i'm looking for the original filenames and folders is because if i have the sgminer source folder i can compile with all algos and check one by one if it works. sgmine sources i can download from github but there is a driver file driver-baikal.h and possible more baikal files that i cand find anywhere.

Do you guys know how to recover deleted files with original folder and filenames? Any software or if you have chance try to recover the deleted files and se if we can recover the entire folder

I found something very interesting while poking around the x10 file structures.

I found these 2 lines:

Code:
poolAdd({url:'stratum+tcp://nist5.mine.zpool.ca:3833',pass:'x11=1,quark=1,qubit=1,groestl=1,nist5=1',priority:'6',algo:'nist5',extranonce:true});
poolAdd({url:'stratum+tcp://groestl.mine.zpool.ca:5333',pass:'x11=1,quark=1,qubit=1,groestl=1,nist5=1',priority:'5',algo:'groestl',extranonce:true});

So I am guessing either the 2 new algos are nist5 and groestl, or they originally had nist5 and groestl and decided to change the algos to skein and myr-groestl.

I also found this line:
Code:
sudo mv sgminer_300MHz_fix_NoHW  /opt/scripta/bin/sgminer

So I am assuming they have their own custom sgminer with a fixed clock rate so there goes the overclocking dream.

Guess someone at Baikal didn't remove all their traces. Now I wonder how would we get nist5 and groestl back on there. LOL.

good work man
nist5 and groestl makes perfect sense.

dont know any nist5 coins, but this will also be very power efficient.
groestl will be slower i guess, but very profitable-
maybe too profitable to release anytime soon..

I don't know about recovering filenames... but I'd be willing to help try to sift through those recovered files for the missing custom ones. For starters, do a full text search on them for the string 'baikal' and look at those files first.

If I have some time tonight, I will try to recover some as well. Wast his done on the newly released sd image, or the original one that came with the x10?

Did you get a chance to compile it and does it match the sgminer on the x10?

Anywho, seeing that log on the recovery files of blakecoin share submitted and accepted, I am guessing that the Baikal Giant B is the same as the Baikal x10, just with different firmwares for different algorithms. Repackaged and re-programed with a $3k+ markup compared to the x10, smart company/choice. So I am assuming now that the 2 new algos is 2 of the algos on Giant B, but they are waiting for the Giant B to be released first before they release the updated firmware for the X10, so the difficulty don't shoot up before they can sell the Giant B.

lol damn thats a dirty move by baikal it makes sense though, the giant b came out
way too soon after the x10 hard to imagine they had a whole different team on a different fpga
for such a small company

Around 500 xvg per 24hr per machine. I now have 1 machine mining xvg and the other at miningpoolhub mining geo.

One of my machines is running 10 degrees hotter than the other even when on the same algo, thinking of flashing the firmware with the latest release but it seems you need to dismantle the miner to get to the card, anyone know how to do this before I get the screwdrivers out!

How much daily mining geo?
Between 4-6 at miningpoolhub, mining-dutch didn't have enough geo miners, all mining xvg.
Took the problem machine apart and flashed the card but it seems that it could be a thermal paste issue, one card had some at the ends of the board whereas the other 2 did not. This machine is running between 30-36, the other 24-27 both next to each other in an ac controlled room.

1% fee, reliable as always.

Edited: last day, near 400.   Sad

Haven't gotten a successful recompile yet. My Linux skills aren't great... Just hoping to help someone who has better software skills!

Possible, but I don't think they would do this because that would basically make all of their customers pretty angry.
