Yes, definitely. Do you remember ramsonware, they payment are made via bitcoin.and some scamer get fund by bitcoin, because  it's decentralize. So police can't get an action. As i think now Its better to use kyc.

KYC will remove one key point of bitcoin. Anonymity. If bitcoin doesnt have that feature then it will not grow like what we see bitcoin now. Its not bitcoin that is the problem its us.. We choose where we use bitcoin. You can also use gold for crimes if you though about it.

See anything can be used for crimes before Bitcoin many people bought weapons with paper money and many crimes will by doing money transfer. Only few cruel people will use Bitcoin for crimes, every one should understand Bitcoin is decentralized currency may be in future they may include kyc in blockchain for reducing illegal activities.

Absolutely bitcoin are used in any illegal activities due to modern world and modern technology that people work in a darkweb just to make crimes cause we all know that bitcoin is very popular. In anonymously person criminals taking advantages of the opportunity to commet crimes. Because they thinks they can not be trace all the time.

All the fiat currencies are used for criminal activities for drug dealings, money laundering and duplicating money so no one can blame bitcoin technology, in other words it is tougher to do criminal activities with bitcoin than traditional currencies as the bitcoin network is on the mark of police investigation after the wannacry ransomware attack worldwide. Duplication of bitcoin is not possible unlike traditional currenciess.

Op just realize that bitcoin are used by the crimes based on his thread title the word "now"

Well for the reference and history of bitcoin, Silk road, scammers, money launderers, illegal transactions are part of the history of it way back 2011 and for the traditional fiat money? is the Government have a better regulation to control the illegal activities of the criminals? they can just hand over the money for the drug and the transaction is done. anonymous? yes if you are not in the sight of the police man.

The point is everything can be used for the crimes even in the ancient times where your ancestors is still alive, they are using an available form of payment like gold, barter trade etc just to use it for their crimes. bitcoin is still premature but the fact that it is digital. the authorities can implement a regulation for the exchanges and wallets for the sole of  security purposes, don't just point to bitcoin because everything has it's negative features.

Yes, nowadays it’s being used in crime, they buy and sell online and pay by bitcoin. Because it’s untraceable. So police can’t get clue to caught them. I think it’s dangerous.
that's true because bitcoin does not use the original identity of the owner. that's why bitcoin is used as a tool for crime. but not all those who have bitcoin is evil. only irresponsible people who damage the good name of bitcoin.
In my opinion, if you using Bitcoin to evade taxes from the government, I think you are also the criminal. Especially, you are using it for business, that is the reason the government never want to accept Bitcoin is legally because they can not manage it. We need to actively pay taxes and declare our assets, revenue in Bitcoin, it is necessary to helps Bitcoin becomes fresh.

I have to agree with this. There is an amount of work on our part to do to help de-stigmatize bitcoin. Being more transparent with it would serve that end.
Yes I agree with this and the reason is obvious and that is the owner of bitcoin holder is unknown to everyone. Nobody knows from where he earned money for investment in bitcoin and for what purpose he will use his bitcoins. The terrorist can easily transfer their funds to any country without any fear and obstacles. They will use bitcoin wallets for this purpose, and from there they will convert in any currency they want.

Well, they are now using the idea of KYC (Know Your Customer is it) if you wanted to convert your digital assets into fiat. And i dont (somehow) see the problem with that. Maybe we dont need it attached to bitcoin. I really dont like uploading a scan copy of my precious documents to use bitcoin. If that is the case though, i will go back to fiat.

This is the disadvantage of bitcoin , the state of being anonymous by anyone who uses it. We dont have the regulation here wherein the users are surely identified by the servers, that is why it is used anywhere even on illegal purposes. I read some articles where bitcoin was used in illegal actions like buying drugs and weapons. I think it's time to put a contact identity for everyone who uses the bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurreny. Its anonymity in nature which made way for crimes and other illegal activities since the day it was created. No wonder why the authority wants to regulate the system. I just hope they won’t try to ban it in my country.

Bitcoins have always been used for crimes. You can look back and see for yourself ie. Silkroad. I doubt that's going to change anytime soon, but that shouldn't be a reason for people not to accept Bitcoins. I see people who make this argument all the time. You can make the same argument that USD has been used for crimes, but that doesn't stop people from not using it.
Crimes are now being smart in many ways. Because this is one issue why some government are having doubts on adopting bitcoin. In a way we all are making illegal transaction because bitcoin is virtual. And if the government can't control it, they will just acknowledge it as illegal. Bitcoin is becoming a multi-million dollar investments and there are more internet protocols to be followed than before.

It is really possible that bitcoin can ve used for illegal transactions given its nature of anonimity. In bitcoin, sender could not be traced. Account transfer is very fast and easy. This is also the fear that possibly terrorists can receive funds through bitcoin system.

its not only now, it has been used already on its early days and guess what Fiats are also used in crimes, governments officials used fiats to do crime and illegal activities.
Fiat is already understood that uses in crimes, now the question here is, bitcoin are now used in crimes. We all know that bitcoin has a lot of potential and since bitcoin is easy to use and to transact everywhere there is a possibility that bitcoin uses in crimes and we cannot stop them from using it since bitcoin is everywhere and everyone can use bitcoin.

While we're at it, cash is also used in crimes, so are credit cards, knives, gloves, baseball bats etc.
I guess you get the point.

Haha Grin well said. Anything can be use to commit a crime and bitcoins have no exception for that because of its transactions are anonymous. If bitcoins will become more widely used globally especially on poor countries then this will give a chance for those small time criminals and scammers who doesn't have a knowledge on what bitcoins are to adapt its convenience to do more crimes

Bitcoin is really used in buying or selling illegal items such as drugs, guns, and hitman services. These have been here before bitcoin's price went up by a 1000, it cannot be stopped and this is one of the reasons why bitcoin is relevant.

Yes, in crime transactions there are those who use bitcoin as their payment medium, since decentralized bitcoins are very difficult to track transactions of buyers and sellers, for that reason criminals use bitcoin for their transactions

Yes is it being done illegally. Actually it is not only now,it  is being illegally these part few years. It is often used as payments in black markets and in dark web transactions  I just saw an article about this dark web transaction, not sure though. If it is actually true then I think it may be the main drawback of bitcoin as its transaction dont have much information to identify who transacts. Actually I can see it as an advantage but if it is being used illegally then it might turn the other way around. If government can come up with a solution to solve this then bitcoin will have the freedom to be used without being abused.

Is there any reliable sources regarding your (from my opinion that's just nonsense) statement? Maybe there's some percentage of the whole bitcoin market cap were involved to darknet transaction but I think that the major market cap of bitcoin comes from the trading activity and so on, one more thing is that, people would choose Monero that's untraceable than bitcoin.

Criminals are taking advantage of the bitcoin's anonymity feature.  one example of this,  is used on Child pornography.  Hackers and criminals are using bitcoin as a mode of payment for their transaction becaus bitcoin trans are anonymous and they cant trace the users. This is thw same with illegal drugs transactions.
