Bitcoins has regained its strong value, As of this posting, the value per 1 bitcoin is exactly 4786.59 US Dollar.   Soon we will see more ways people can squeeze the most out of bitcoins.   Since the advent of the internet to be profit oriented in the 90's, no one would possibly have imagined that the Internet would breed Facebook, Google, Uber, online streaming, etc. This is where we are with the Blockchain now. There exists a whole world of opportunities out there.  

These opportunities have the unrighteous users of this cryptocurrencies to also used its advantage. We cannot deny for a fact that cyber crimes have been committed since the birth of the internet.  Once, stealing was done with having guns, now, robbers can easily hack bank accounts or counterfeit credit cards to their advantage.  Sooner, cryptocurrencies can be used to pay crimes such as services for creating counterfeit birth certificates and this is not far from happening.  Actually, the US has already cases on this matter.

Another is the crime of buying illegal-drug emporium that used Bitcoin as a medium of exchange, politicians and policymakers took notice. Criminals, it turns out, really like bitcoins, which can be exchanged for nefarious purposes on the "Dark Web," with complete anonymity and, it seems, impunity.

Although, there are some articles that i have read regarding criminals cannot hide behind bitcoins, still, there are difficulties tracing transactions using cryptocurrencies. That is why law enforcement agencies should have a to change their procedures to pursue criminals who make use of the latest technology to commit crimes. Let the law find a way to evolve to address new tech challenges. There is no reason to expect that law enforcement won’t be able to get a handle on this new cybercrime.

Bitcoin is a money and it can also use in different crimes. I can say that the bitcoin have many disadvantages. I also saw a thread here in the forum that want to buy drugs using bitcoins. The bitcoin is gaining many bad images because many people are using bitcoin in crimes.

Every currency could be used for crime. It depends only on level of crimes... local, international, global, online crime....

This is old school, BTC is being used in silk road long ago, and have been scattered in the deep web even before I got here in this forum. But one must not just rely on that. Everything can be used in crimes, even casino chips so BTC is not to blame, the people who are doing bad things must be responsible not this technology.

Yes, nowadays it’s being used in crime, they buy and sell online and pay by bitcoin. Because it’s untraceable. So police can’t get clue to caught them. I think it’s dangerous.

I think yes because bitcoin is decentralise everyone can use bitcoins and no one can freeze your money bitcoin transaction is on public but you cannot trace the people who are using bitcoin thats the reason why they use it and also fast transaction

Yeah this is the truth that the bitcoin can be use for the reason and the bitcoin is getting famous I hope he future of the bitcoin will be bright if the people who are aware of the other currencies and they will see the clear difference I know, the bitcoin is now able to use for everything and the bitcoin is able to be able to increase the power and the strength of the bitcoin I am very sure the bitcoin will be safe and people will not use this as the bad deeds.

Anything can be use in crimes. Basically, bitcoin is a crytocurrency where you can use it through everything . For example, using bitcoins in gambling whether you use it in a good way there 's always a bad way will pop out. Bitcoins can use as a transaction where crime also use in there. What can you expect from here, at a high price of bitcoins there are still crimes occur.

Gambling business with crypto is really blossoming this days and I think that is the best form for investment today - online casinos and their tokens.
About the main point - dollar and euro also used for criminal, so what is the reason to point on bitcoin in this sense? For me it is just a trying to show bitcoin in a negative line, but it is not worse than any other currency. And if to look at the value of currencies used for crimes - bitcoin (and alts) is the most innocent.

I am not sure about use of bitcoin in crime. But one virus named "ransomware" which lock the computers in many country. The hacker demanded bitcoin to provide solution. As bitcoin is not traceable so it is batter way for criminals.

Any kind of Crypto currency and any kind of real world currency can be used in crimes such as drug trades, assassination and other illegal stuffs. Well bitcoin is the first and top crypto currency used world wide that's why illegal drug trades choose bitcoin for their "medium" of payment if you know what i mean.

The fact, bandits still can rob your money without any technology like blockchain and cryptocurrency. You forget if you give them chance to rob your money, they can do that as nothing happened. You are right they commit a crime because there is a chance I admit they are smart but unfortunately their intelligence is used for crime, They can do whatever they want to get it. to avoid evil we have to be careful and not give them a chance

I think nothing is perfect.  Beside of the benefits of bitcoin and always stroll with negatif for example above point out.  I hope there's a way in long term to prevent bitcoin employed for crimes.

Well I think it’s a very bad thing that bitcoin is using in crime and or any other bad thing because bitcoin very good safe and sound currency and you will learn good things here so I think rather than use bitcoin in bad things we need to use it for good things because bitcoin is here to help people not make them criminals.

Bitcoin are now used in different kind of crimes like scamming. Now that bitcoin price is rising all scammers are using all the ways to get bitcoin. It also used by rich people to hide their money to avoid paying their tax and it is also used for transferring money by all illegal business. That's why not all country are accepting bitcoin.

Yup we all know that despite of providing a free of tariff method for payment, Btcs are being used in the wrong ways leading to an imbalance in the socio- economic world. Some people are always keeping their money in form of Btcs and hence hide it form the governmental census per year moreover, there is a wide use of digital assets in the black market because all the transactions are not traceable .As the whole method is electronic, therefore it is more vulnerable to hacking and scammer sites.

Not only at the moment, in my opinion, Bitcoin used in crimes right at the start because Bitcoin transaction is almost anonymous and the only way to find out the begin or end place of any transaction is the IP address but it'll be useless if the crime use VPN software. Because of the security of Bitcoin, a lot of bad guys are still using it to commit crimes like money laundering, tax evasion,.....But for now the number of crimes related to Bitcoin is greater than before because the price of Bitcoin is more than 7k$ at the moment not only few cents like before.
