Bitcoins are used for crimes I've visited the deep web before, and you can buy tons of stuff using Bitcoin there, because using Bitcoin is a perfect way to hide your identity. That's also one of the reasons why the value of it sky rocketed in just a year. People are using this stuff for illegal purposes.

The truth is that some people now used bitcoin to pay hitmen and execute one nefarious activity or the other. But it's not supposed to be so, there should be checks to put it to a stop else it will pull the crypto vision down!

If its a new post then this Iam surprised,how come BITCOINS are used in crimes,they have been used since long as I have seen lots of news about the same infact SILK case is of the same.So I wish and pray that BITCOIN goes only in the nicest and ethical way !

Its not now..they have been used even in the past.its just that the technology is new everyday.

Bitcoins has regained its strong value, As of this posting, the value per 1 bitcoin is exactly 4786.59 US Dollar.   Soon we will see more ways people can squeeze the most out of bitcoins.   Since the advent of the internet to be profit oriented in the 90's, no one would possibly have imagined that the Internet would breed Facebook, Google, Uber, online streaming, etc. This is where we are with the Blockchain now. There exists a whole world of opportunities out there.  

These opportunities have the unrighteous users of this cryptocurrencies to also used its advantage. We cannot deny for a fact that cyber crimes have been committed since the birth of the internet.  Once, stealing was done with having guns, now, robbers can easily hack bank accounts or counterfeit credit cards to their advantage.  Sooner, cryptocurrencies can be used to pay crimes such as services for creating counterfeit birth certificates and this is not far from happening.  Actually, the US has already cases on this matter.

Another is the crime of buying illegal-drug emporium that used Bitcoin as a medium of exchange, politicians and policymakers took notice. Criminals, it turns out, really like bitcoins, which can be exchanged for nefarious purposes on the "Dark Web," with complete anonymity and, it seems, impunity.

Although, there are some articles that i have read regarding criminals cannot hide behind bitcoins, still, there are difficulties tracing transactions using cryptocurrencies. That is why law enforcement agencies should have a to change their procedures to pursue criminals who make use of the latest technology to commit crimes. Let the law find a way to evolve to address new tech challenges. There is no reason to expect that law enforcement won’t be able to get a handle on this new cybercrime.

Of course it is used in crime but in my opinion it doesn't say nothing because in the and if its not bitcoin it is something else.

Bitcoin transactions are not traceable, no identity is needed. That is why it is convenient for big crime groups to use bitcoin for their transactions because it is safer for them to send or receive money through cryptocurrency.

I won't be shock that criminals and/syndicates use Bitcoin as a form payment. Due to the reason that the industry is decentralized, These people use it as an advantage to transact freely under the radar of the Government. Also due to the anonimity of the user it maximizes the reach of the syndicates/criminals.

I think now only now but even before. It is the easiest way for them to perform because they cant be traced. One thing also is, it very dangerous to trust anyone who offer bitcoin for something, you can be scammed anytime if you are not careful. A lot of bad things people do usIng bitcoin but i hope bitcoin does good more than bad.

The transactions are non-traceable,irreversible and the anonymity here is 100% so a great gain for the crime activities,so there should be a little control over it !

Actually in america there is a person that can be called one of the most wanted there. He buy and sell drugs and weapons all over the world using bitcoins which is scary because there are people like him who take advantages pf bitcoins.

Yes I do agree,they are using bitcoin in crimes like scamming people nowadays. They are using Bitcoin as front for an investment scheme making the investor believe that they are going to get profits from investing in bitcoin. Its making bitcoin a bad image to everyone.

Yeah bitcoin transaction are based with peer to peer (p2p) thats why no one can identify who made the transaction and who get the btc.but it is not a fault of bitcoin or cryptocurrency that is the technology if bitcoin haven't exsistence they doing criminal activities by using another method

According to me yes it is used in crimes too because there is no interference of government into it. Its easy for transaction with tracing any clue. so its very much attract criminals too.

Years ago, before gaining its own popularity... bitcoin is already being used for crimes. However, its potential was maximized when it was used as an investment or alternative payment.  We don't need to be alarmed because btc is just used as a tool, just like the old saying"money is the root of all evil", you cannot control people on how they use it

This appears to be true. I mean a criminal would definitely use every asset that he or she can think of just to be an accessory to his or her crime. This is why it is not a surprise anymore if criminals will indeed use bitcoin for the criminal activities.

Criminals are using it already, the biggest organization of criminals are ISIS. that is how they are funded through Bitcoin because digital currency is very hard to trace specially if you're using many network transfer and end up all to the same recipient. They can buy anything without regulations.
