Bitcoins has regained its strong value, As of this posting, the value per 1 bitcoin is exactly 4786.59 US Dollar.   Soon we will see more ways people can squeeze the most out of bitcoins.   Since the advent of the internet to be profit oriented in the 90's, no one would possibly have imagined that the Internet would breed Facebook, Google, Uber, online streaming, etc. This is where we are with the Blockchain now. There exists a whole world of opportunities out there.  

These opportunities have the unrighteous users of this cryptocurrencies to also used its advantage. We cannot deny for a fact that cyber crimes have been committed since the birth of the internet.  Once, stealing was done with having guns, now, robbers can easily hack bank accounts or counterfeit credit cards to their advantage.  Sooner, cryptocurrencies can be used to pay crimes such as services for creating counterfeit birth certificates and this is not far from happening.  Actually, the US has already cases on this matter.

Another is the crime of buying illegal-drug emporium that used Bitcoin as a medium of exchange, politicians and policymakers took notice. Criminals, it turns out, really like bitcoins, which can be exchanged for nefarious purposes on the "Dark Web," with complete anonymity and, it seems, impunity.

Although, there are some articles that i have read regarding criminals cannot hide behind bitcoins, still, there are difficulties tracing transactions using cryptocurrencies. That is why law enforcement agencies should have a to change their procedures to pursue criminals who make use of the latest technology to commit crimes. Let the law find a way to evolve to address new tech challenges. There is no reason to expect that law enforcement won’t be able to get a handle on this new cybercrime.

FOr starters almost everythig can be used for ellegal purposes or for criminality. Even paper money or the cards even the very protection that we use can be used against us and it is no wonder that crypocurrency or bitcoin is being used for this kinds of things

On the world of internet you can do anything as you cant control the whole section.bitcoin is a vast thing.we all have claimed before that nobody can destroy it.so also nobody can fully control it.people will take any invention in good or bad both of ways.so if they are using it for the sake of crime we should not pull that issue.and this was my opinion.

Whehehel that was one of the main points in BTC -- privacy. It's ideal for crimes: no traces, no regulation, no punishment. It's obvious that BTC is used for crimes all over the world and nobody can do anything with that.

We can't stop this kind of activity because this is one of the features of bitcoin. We don't know what activity they are doing in those transactions. At least we have privacy in our transaction keeping us safe to those trackers.

Yes, actually bitcoin is not full anonymous the transaction of bitcoin can be tracked and many people who used fiat money to crime activities, money laundrying is one of them and the numbers of it more large than the bitcoin or other digital coins, because of some people who used bitcoin in illegal activity doesn't mean bitcoin is bad and it must be blamed and banned. More than it shoud the people learn more about the bitcoin, the technology behind of bitcoin and any other new technology of digital coins. Unfortunately there are no many people can see it, especially the government of countries.

Hackers sent a malicious ware ( a ransomware) that practically locked up the files in the user's PC. They requested for btc to release the files.

Of course bitcoins used in crimes now, because you can't track any transaction, it is impossible. But bitcoin is not panacea, any fiat money used for crimes too not less than in bitcoin!

Bitcoin is just a currency and almost all the currencies are being used to do some crimes or to do some illegal transaction because they know that they can have a way to make undetectable transactions because of the possible cover of the anonymity. Bitcoin is being used back in the days but right now, it is more on an investment and not an option to do some crimes.

The authorities need to learn the blockchain technology and how Bitcoin works. Its a matter of proper and accurate Enforcement in order for them not to fear the currency and learn how Criminal Activities operate trades using Bitcoin.

Every Currency whether fiat or digital are susceptible to illegal activities.

In my country, they're kinda ignorant on how Drug Trades or Corruption were performed silently. Just because it's new to us at that time.
I hope it will settle next year since Bitcoin is all over the internet & news (not on free TV for now).

It's just the way it is. It's still trading.

IMO, the black market is really the first movers and are the first to think of ways to use cryptocurrencies for their trading benefit.

I agree that some of the drug dealers accept payments in Bitcoins and other form of crypto-currency such as Monero, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash. But I have never heard of the mafia gangs and cartels using Bitcoins. That is because they are having far better options. Many of the mainstream banks help the mafias to launder their money.

Yes, I definitely agree. Nowadays, bitcoin can be use and are now used in crimes because of its capabilities. Knowing that bitcoin is untraceable and all identities are unknown? Criminals can't be caught. Well, I'm not surprised on this because we all know that all evil doings have its way. Evil doings can never be stop.
