There's nothing we can do about bitcoin being used in crimes. Since it is untraceable, btc can be used easily for payments in illegal transactions. But let us be reminded that even before bitcoin, criminals are still using money illegally so whichever comes to them, bitcoin or fiat, they will use it.

My question is: every single currency is being used for criminal acts. Should we ban all of them? In fact USD is being used for illegal stuff much more than cryptos  |

maybe bitcoins can be use for crimes for example on ransom money. instead of fiat money they will only use bitcoin wallet for the transactions. and because bitcoin is decentralized digital currency which does the transactions with Anonymously no one can trace them. bitcoins can be use also to buy illegal drugs.

Do not be too thoughtful, real money is often made for crime. It all depends on the user, we can not limit a user to what will be done to what he has. It's their right.

BTC being decentralized and anonymity in a transaction is one of the major reasons why BTC is used in illegal activities like drug abuse(sale and purchase) and even terrorist activities.
This is the only reason why most country's central authorities are unable to evaluate the legal entity of BTC as a payment mode.

Yes many people has been used bitcoin in crime. There are many people out there that doing bad things so you should be careful. One of example of crime that people's doing is scamming people. They will make you believe that your money will get doubled if you invest your money to them then after a while the company will close suddenly.

Unfortunately Bitcoin uniqueness paved the way to those with criminal mind to use Bitcoin in their activities, money laundering, scamming, selling knock offs on-line, any kind of criminal activity bitcoin can be used because one can use this and remain anonymous. When the Government starts to step in and regulate, this will not stop them from using it, they will just think of other ways.

There are a lot of criminal groups using bitcoin to wash money. There are many ways to get rid of bitcoin thanks. And the government can not control the money flow of its own country

Yes some criminal minded people used bitcoin to do crime. Like to buy drugs and weapons. So in sense money is also used to commit crimes and criminal activities. So it depends on mentality there is always two side of mirror good and bad. It depends on people what to choose good or bad. |

The media very often emphasize that criminals use bitcoin for criminal activities. It seems to me that they want to create an association with something negative. Nobody says that dollars are used in criminal activity.

Yes it can be and I think being decentralized I think it is an easy way to the criminals to transfer money. I think that is the reason that it is bann in most of the countries. BTC transactions can't be detected. This helps the criminals to make a financial transaction easily and quickly without much efforts. This is the biggest threat of BTC usage. Govt. also taking this issue more seriously now, and therefore either want to regulate the BTC Transaction or BAN it to remain safe. |

That is why law enforcement agencies should have a to change their procedures to pursue criminals who make use of the latest technology to commit crimes. Let the law find a way to evolve to address new tech challenges. There is no reason to expect that law enforcement won’t be able to get a handle on this new cybercrime.

Technically speaking, even the fiat moneys are always used for crimes. Money/currency is not the matter. It is the user who use it for crime or illegal matters. Do not be surprised if the bitcoin is actually used for so called crimes^. Even you and me could use it on crimes and yes of course we could use it for legitimate stuff like what we really wanted to. |

I seriously do not care about btc or other lat used in DarkWeb because Drug deaers will be with or without it and there are a ton of other arguments.
But I do care that btc /alts could be used by countries like IRAN or northkorea to bypass sanctions, that realy su**s

Due to the fact that the government has no hold of it because its decentralized, no way that they can intercept illegal activities. On top of that, bitcoin can be good tool for criminals who launches ransomware which will only ask for their victims to deposit their ransom money at a particular btc address since transactions made over the blockchain is completely anonymous where you wouldn't know who is the sender or the receiver.
