We need to be fully aware about its price and its market cap before we venture into it.

In my opinion category of good coin is look from their team founder should consist of people who professional and transparan and they has working product already. By they has working product that mean the team really serious to development their project. Then other one is aim of the project and what problem will be solved. If their project really can solved some problem then many people will be interesting in it and buy the token so the price of token also will be increasing.
Yeah, the team will really keep doing a good job to keep the ball rolling and trying as much as possible to stay relevant. There are some coins that are really not worth holding for long as you won't even hear a single thing from the devs once the coin is launched and you are strictly going to be on your own. Those categories of coins end up becoming shit coins at the end, and no one will like being a bag holder of such coins. I suggest you in coinmarketcap you will get detail info about coins.
Coinmarketcap can only give you good direction of coins to research on based on their market caps, but when it comes to long term holding, just as it sounds, you really need to be sure the project is really going to be able to stand the test of time. Not all the coins you see at the top today are going to remain there and some will get being pushed down the more which is normal considering how big the market is.

My steps for choose coin: 1.Team 2.Idea 3.Solutions 4.Hype, work with community
Nice one. The team always comes first for me as far as I am concerned. Project ideas are always bulky to read and understand and before I even try to do that, I will first find out if the team is good enough to hit the ground running. Some project idea can be good, but without a good team to do the right thing, it is just going to end up being a shitty one. I dont think a real investors will need to consider those thing, they care about roadmap more and product develop.
Yes, it is not everything that would need to be considered. Anyone who is not ready for volatility in this crypto industry is not ready to invest into any coin at all. However, there are some things you cannot discard, which are the credibility of the team. It is one thing to have a good road map and perfectly laid out whitepaper, but it is another thing to get them executed. Without a good team, all these cannot be possible.

Before you choose some coin, read more about all alts and about their history, watch educational videos in YouTube and check information about coins here: https://coinmarketcap.com/

You can know a good coin by checking the total amount that was created and the total amount that is in circulation. If for example 100,000,000 was created and almost all that amount is in circulation then be careful there will be dumping in waiting to happen. But if about $50,000,000 is in circulation with the rest in reserve than watch that coin will go places.

Whitepapers are good way to know if they are good but sometimes there's no hope if those projects are just really going to do something. But still those legit projects are really going to shine in the end when it is pumping slowly. And to those coins that ICO was done and ready to be trade on exchanges, still look on their development and road map. You'll see if those devs are working on their white paper.

It is a really very difficult task to choosing a currency for investment purposes . It requires hard work and study. There are many coins, where investments can be more risky and more likely to lose money. So if you want to invest in ICO projects, then you would expect to read ico white paper and find out what the projects actually stand for.

I often look at the project's DEV team, coin technology and the community that advocates it. I also look at the coin's roadmap and whitepaper to guide its development. Stay calm and watch carefully before investing.

You are right buddy. Project's background are important especially those who manage it if they are really trusted peoples. Why because there are so many campaigns now are end up scam because of the greediness of the people behind it. Well we must take a look of the coins before we buy it, we must always see how potential it is. Choosing a coins for longterm is not that easy because it produce success or bankrupt to you soon.

The easiest way is to look for the coin in the list of top coins. Make sure you are looking at a reliable list. Coinmarketcap.com is one of the good sources of information of this kind. If the coin is included in the top 10, they are for sure perfect choices for investment. In the top 20, still good and very promising. This will even include the top 30 coins. But most of all, try to monitor their projects' development and progress. You will see there what they are preparing and doing.

That's a good question.
You should always check for -
Historical Data of coin The project concept behind the coin. The team involved in the project. The roadmap and current status of the project accordingly. Whether coin is part of pump and dump group if yes then join it. The traded volume of the coin and market capitalism for it.
All these and many more factors will define the goodness of coin if they are on the positive scale. You can't just make it short investment but the longer one to get hold on that particular coin.
I also a newbie when it comes to knowing what is a good coin and i think this will help us to understand some good information on how to choose the right coin. many factors will be considered on how to choose the good coin, that why im always do some research to know the potential of the coin i want to invest with. thanks for sharing a good information like this.

First study background. Who the team, what the product, why somebody should use this coin. Then look at the coinmarketcap: study historical data, total supply( must be min), volume 24h, market capitalization and so on. A visionary person must choose a coin which as any future aspects and those who don’t do this thing they often lead to the losing money and the best investors choice nowadays is bitcoin it has future and a strong background as well and there is no hidden monopoly in bitcoin everything is crystal clear and there will be a lot of profit in it so trust it blindly it will give you more than expect and play a role to make it circulate,

First: Read their whitepaper. If there is not whitepaper, thats usually a bad sign. Second: Does it have an active (and serious) community? That usually helps push a coin and market it. Third: Volume. Does the coin have high volume? If yes, which exchanges is it listed on?
That's usually my first point i check aslwell as the question: Does the coin contribute with any value?

Those good developers are being hired as well by different projects being an adviser or something the same. And with contributes to their success from their past projects it'll make those upcoming projects that they are with to be successful too. And there will be a guarantee that those projects they are working currently will not do something cheeky by the time after the ICOs success.
