A few questions for anyone who knows the answers for me thanks.
Is there an advantage to using linux over windows? Should I install linux on my old machines? Is the hps better?
Is it better to have faster cpu or bigger cache? Am I better off having many miners (like 50) or a few (like 5) "really powerful" ones?
How many computers are in the "botnet" I saw 500 mentioned somewhere how are they beating 3500 miners on the pool?
strong server is better choice in solo like tons of VPS in pool when will bbp be listed on other exchangers?
next 10 weeks wont be on any exchange ... ROB: most ppl befooled that mining..... me2 this column could be in RED,cos is very unclear My Missing Miners

i was updating until 3am to 1.0.8.1, but when i woke up, all miners was stuck on 25900... but pool still shown some hps from them. not full speed but maybe 1/4. this is weird after updating go 1.0.8.1b everything went to normal, look like number of blocs is increasing but not fast enough. if there was massive botnet, we must hitting at least every second block now, but we dont. will see later but i'm a little bit skeptic

Rob, I have the impression when mining blocks, for example it pays out 300bbp, yet in the home page it would show only half of it. How can this be?

I see 3075 miners at the pool with only 13% blocks mined. Why is that?
It's a 24hr average.. 8 hours ago, when I noticed the update, it was stuck at 10%.. It's creeping up slowly, and coins mined is up some 50% since this morning.. Give it another 16 hours, and then see where we are.. I think we're doing a lot better than it looks.. A quick look through the block history suggests the pool has solved 21 out of the 73 blocks since 25900..

I hope it stays at that %, but I fear that once botnet upgrade, we will be back at 10-14 %.

I think CCEX will put us back in within a few days of the 20th. Im sure hes going to be extremely busy, but I think he will squeeze us in. In addition, Im still in talks with another deal, I should know more within 8 days. Ill notify coinsmarkets now.

But Im watching 'exec versionreport' closely to see what the 1.0.7.1 botnet is doing, and it has shrunken from 60% down to 39% overnight. All I can say is maybe some of those nodes are upgrading to 1.0.8.1 and solo mining. The reason I say that is I can see every block from our cutover was solved on 1.0.8.1 (if you look at the block itself), but the pool only solved about 25% of them (raising our pool percentage up slightly over night but, not to 50% as I expected). Things have improved slightly but not nearly to the level I expected. So I measured the avg block time between 25910 and 25978 (thats 12 hours of being live on 1.0.8.1) and we still only solved 68 blocks, that is about the same as we were before the upgrade (IE 10 minute blocks instead of 7). But lets not make a judgement on that yet, as its a very small sample, lets check over a 2 week period next. Things could drastically change as soon as 1.0.8.1 has 51% hash power on it. We've got 35% on it now, lets hope that next milestone helps us rocket the pool forward.

Rob I added a dual xeon 3.5ghz per core (8 total) to mining pool this beast should increase our power slightly, even though it would be better off mining solo I'm willing to sacrifice this power for the sake of pool hit of blocks.

" I’ve been trying to workout how to use crypto to fund orphanages and free slaves internationally. I work with a couple of orphanages. How does bible pay convert token to on the ground assistance for orphans in somewhere like the Congo or Haiti?"
Here is another good use case for BiblePay - funding to free slaves internationally.
I like it!
