When the code is released you will be able to dig for full details. Until then, we will make an announcement of some type when it's time!

It should add a healthy level of security and privacy over most existing blockchains in an area where many are lacking.

Wow thank you for the quick response. Do you know if the windows GUI wallet will be updated or should I just bite the bullet and learn this new Golang you speak of?

I think I see Asics showing up on pool.dero the difficulty spike hard then drops... Am I right?

The windows GUI wallet is maintained by a respected community member so we can't say with certainty whether it will be updated regularly at this point. That being said, Q2 will bring an official GUI wallet from the Dero development team.

The golang wallet is actually fairly easy to use. It's menu based now and it gives you selections to choose from every step of the way.

I'm a windows user, haven't updated the wallet since previous update to solve chain forks, I wan't to receive my coins bought at SE, is the new wallet mandatory?

Regarding SE probably need to wait a little longer, no news regarding if they finished maintenance

Perhaps the industrious miners will have a high income. No ICO also means no wallet and bonus cubes.

Any chance the new daemon/wallet is messing up the old blockchain? I ask because once again my wallet daemon is unable to sync, but unlike the previous forking incident, this time the "new top block candidate" keeps oscillating between blocks 53023 and 52402, which is puzzling, to say the least.

At this point we're encouraging everyone to move over to the new network. We will likely make an official announcement almost any time now to let all individual users know it's time to switch

DERO: a new blockchain technology with CryptoNote Privacy + Smart Contracts

Dero has written a new blockchain technology based on the CryptoNote protocol with the next major step being new smart contract controls. Dero's new blockchain is coded in golang (Go) to bring together the CryptoNote protocol and smart contracts on the Dero blockchain.

Dero's new blockchain based on the CryptoNote protocol and written in golang is now complete and the development team have completed their Q1 roadmap goals early. Having written a new blockchain technology from the ground up successfully, the team is now turning their attention to smart contracts with CryptoNote privacy.

For now, the new code is backwards compatible with the previous CryptoNote protocol (Helium Hydra). If you download the previous and new clients you're able to run both sets of daemons in parallel. That being said, it adds a lot of effort to maintain compatibility and some time in the near future we will drop support for the previous CryptoNote protocol (Helium Hydra).

We will provide technical details and developer details in the future.
