@frufru - Yes, I plan to start working on an to update the CasinoCoin client early next week to incorporate changes in Litecoin 0.8.6.2 as soon as I'm done with updates to the CasinoCoin API. This will make it compatible with Mac OS X Mavericks in addition to other improvements since Litecoin 0.6.9.2. I'm also considering a change in difficulty adjust as detailed in my message below.

Fantastic news, happy to hear it!

I'd like to propose a change to the current CasinoCoin protocol that will require a hard fork, and I would like to get the community's thoughts on the change before proceeding.

There has recently been a general sentiment from the community that multipools have hurt the stability in the value of CasinoCoin due to volatility with difficulty. Whenever CasinoCoin becomes one of the top most profitable coins to mine on sites like CoinWarz.com, we see a jump in the network hashrate which causes a jump in the difficulty. When the difficulty adjust occurs, the network hashrate drops significantly as miners move on to the next profitable coin to mine, causing CasinoCoin to get "stuck" at the higher diffulty for more than the theoretical 6 hour difficulty adjustment time (recently, we've seen it take 15+ hours). This causes stability issues in terms of difficulity and value.

The current difficult adjust time is 720 blocks. At 30-second block times, theoretically, the difficulty adjustment occurs every 6 hours. I am considering a change that would cut the adjustment time by 1/6th to 120 blocks, which is approximately every hour.

Other variables to consider are the damping rate and maximum percentage of difficulty adjust (ie. the maximum the difficulty can increase or decrease per adjustment period). I will need to do some research to see what values are effective, but I'm open to any ideas that you may have.

Before I proceed with any changes, I'd like your feedback and thoughts on this proposal, whether you support it or not, and whether you see an upside and/or downside to such a change in the protocol.

If the adjustment time is cut down to 120 blocks, no other changes should be needed.  I'm not sure limiting the difficulty adjustment is a good idea.  Has it been implemented in any other coins?

@transcoder: I think both changes would help, i.e. 120 blocks instead of 720 and an extra damping as suggested earlier.

Given that there were practically no responses to my suggestion to bring in professional casino operators I will not pursue this further.

Wow. CSC Network hash rate is 1.6 GH/s. Next difficulty expected to be over 12!
I've never seen it that high in the past month I think. No thanks to multipools.

Doge has quite a few developers behind the coin, and I believe are responsible for that site!
If only they would switch their beliefs from a meme to a useful coin that is meant for Gambling.

CasinoCoinCity will be Completed and Launched with working games very soon. I am still waiting to hear back from the slot as there is still no updated withdraw options that I can see on the test server. It is just as much frustrating for myself as it is for you. Half of the first project was paid upfront and at this point im scared it is going to be lost as this guy does not know what to do.

On the other hand the new developer from coinD is experienced with bitcoin and crypto currencys and this will be no problem for him. Some things that could help speed up this process.

It is really not in my interest to talk with any casinos at this moment as I am having one developed. With that being said once there is a stable ground for cscity I will be contacting the casinos I had mentioned about 40 pages back in the posts and trying to persuade them to take the CasinoCoin route or at least try a beta adoption of the coin. These are well known casinos in the online community, and I have been playing at them for over 3 years as well a respected affiliate.

Not saying don't contact them because all I want to do is see the Coin grow and without casinos CasinoCoin is just another coin, but at this moment it would be up to transcoder or someone in the community to talk with the Casino.
We eventually want to integrate a poker room at CSCity but do not want to until there is other playable games, and a good poker room will be quite a task and with one developer working we have to take things 1 step at a time!

Casinocoin is an exclusive coin. So I have patience. My opinion is: If we do with others, than only with exclusive casino's or exclusive bitcoincasino's.
But when there is casinocoincity soon, it will be a good startingpoint. Later on it will expand.  Wink

Its about getting the name and coin out and recognised first.... who cares if CSC isnt exclusive to only CSC City? CasinoCoin already has the name for gambling over BTC LTC and DOGE. It's about taking all the publicity we can get.
