Timing is everything in investing, as long as you believe that the market will progress, you should trust and hold.
As of now, we can see that the market is looking good in general despite the fact that it's quite down a little due to bearish trend, but it should

No, it is way too risky to just hodl your alts. For bitcoin it will work, but for altcoin just use trailing stop loss -10-15% if you see 2-3x profits. Don't be greedy, this is a volatile market and you could get away with nothing. It is same thoughts why I didn't buy BTH at 400 usd, just useless regrets.

Regret when you were able to earn but still you are holding your coin i think that is normal but given the chance already to earn why not sell the coin? At least you could have some profit it is a good practice to sell 50% of the holdings and hold the rest. I guess in this way this is 50/50 chance that you will be able to earn money in a simple way by holding and selling coin.

I'm really disappointed with myself now because of Verge. Way back June 2017, I bought $200 worth of XVG and I sold it last week a day before the pump happened. It could be worth more than $5k now if I just HODL. Well, I need to move on and learn from this mistakes. This will be a lesson for me to have patience and wait for the right time to sell my coins. The reason why I sold it was because I need more funds to buy another coin. I'm happy with the coin I bought because I can now see that it is now starting to pump. Maybe, I'm just half disappointed every time I'm seeing the current value of Verge. I bought some XVG again and will surely hold it this time. I hope that this experience of mine can be a good example for everyone especially the newbies in this community.

I have experienced it several times, it is indeed disappointing. at the end of 2016 I bought GAME and the price suddenly fell, I lost 50% of my money. until I can't hold and sell it. after that 1 week passed I look back at the price of GAME, and it turns out .. the increase reaches 200%, I am very disappointed. and that's a lesson for me. now i hold some altcoin for long term and not panic selling.

It is the reason why we should hold our coins. There are a lot of promising coins that have a good future. We can earn more profit by holding our coins. The key for us to able to hold our coins in a long time is by having a lot of patience.

I think it's just a pump and dump coin and it did not reach $3,000, its higher than ETH and airdrop participants might be buying lambo if it happens.
Look at the volume, its dumping, so I don't really trust this kind of coin, unless its listed in big exchange.

There will always be better time to sell or buy a coin, the most important thing is to figure out what is the mark at which you will be willing to sell the coin. For example before buying one you say to yourself, I`ll sell it at the profit of 40% and won`t be mad if it goes higher.

For now I prefer to hold my coins as much as I can because whenever I sold one of my coin I always regret it. But I think its better if you can sell some of them not all. You can keep the rest and if it will grow in the future you still have some at least.

that's important you should be grateful. when the coin you buy decreases its price maybe you will not talk like you are talking now.

I agree with OP on this one, the people who panic sell their coins now and didn't hold will end up regretting their actions when the prices of coins recover and go back up and then into the market. If you do not want to be among those then hold on to your coins. You only lose when you sell your coins, you always stand to make profit from your coins if you just be patient and hold.

Actually we can not predict any of coin movement so sell coin in loss position is not always bad and regret.
I am not the one who like sell in loss but learning from experience, we can sell our coin in loss and try to get lower price to buy back to minimize the loss.

People wrongly interpret HODL to be something really positive. HODL is not a solution for every market situation. If you don't understand the market and are only here to earn some huge ROI, then just put your money in some large-cap coin for long-term investment. At that time HODL makes sense. But not always.

You need to take positions according to the market. You shouldn't HODL all the way through the bull market phase and then regret not selling while in bear.

my opinion it's better we are holding bitcoin because the price will go up again and that is almost guaranteed because we can see from the past history prices that the bitcoin market is going down but after a few months, it is going up again for new all time highs and the only difference from the price right now is only a few and we just need to have a lot of patience.
