Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Thats normal. People tend to panic selling and buying. However the good timing is basic. Hodl is good because you can control when is the good timing for you. Remember dont panic buy or sell. Just hodl if price is down. It eventually go up. Wait the pump. Smiley

Everyone does that more than once in their investment life, a token/ coin / share we think will have a potential having no potential at all and forever stay in a price lower than we brought and another one we thought of having no potential sometimes goes into record breaking percentage profit.

That's why it's always good idea to always have multiple investments, if it's crypto market, multiple coins, with at least few from top 10 from coinmarket, because they always give profit, short term and long term.

Bah nonsense, I don´t need to hodl because I can buy again whenever I want, so I will just wait for the market to reach the bottom. You hodl and have fun doing it. I will be around to catch the good fish.

I'm really disappointed with myself now because of Verge. Way back June 2017, I bought $200 worth of XVG and I sold it last week a day before the pump happened. It could be worth more than $5k now if I just HODL. Cry Well, I need to move on and learn from this mistakes. This will be a lesson for me to have patience and wait for the right time to sell my coins. The reason why I sold it was because I need more funds to buy another coin. I'm happy with the coin I bought because I can now see that it is now starting to pump. Maybe, I'm just half disappointed every time I'm seeing the current value of Verge. I bought some XVG again and will surely hold it this time. Smiley I hope that this experience of mine can be a good example for everyone especially the newbies in this community.

Holding now a days is the best thing to do since the market price is currently decreasing in order to avoid losing a huge amount of profit but still it was your choice if you are tempted to sell your coins because you are not well knowledgeable about the market system.

I trust your recommendation to the individuals from this discussion, particularly to the novices, will reach far. This is extremely vital for every one of us to figure it out. Lament is dismal and it is significantly more miserable in light of the fact that a considerable measure of us here have unnecessarily experienced a few rounds of disappointments before at long last coming into an acknowledgment that holding is extremely required in this sort of speculation. We don't need to really experience this negative experience just to take in a critical exercise of holding. Be that as it may, some of the time, this is precisely what we require.

I bought many coins at a lower price. When them  goes up I thought that this is the maximum and I sold them . But now I see the price of them all has gone to the moon. Be patient all the time.

And here and there. Your experience gives nothing to beginners in the cryptocurrency market. It is better to refer to the experience of more experienced traders, such as Balina.

I prefer to wait and hold my coin to be a very expensive coin because if it sells then I will experience a very high regret for having sold it at a cheap price. for me if you are stuck in verge then wait until the price is back up. Smiley

There are 2 options:
1) HODL
2) no HODL

You can´t tell what is better, because you don´t know what will happen in the future. Everybody is a general after the battle.

Here are few lessons I learned.

1. Trading is cool but the real money comes when you decide to invest long term.

I remember buying XPM (primecoin) worth 4.2 BTC at 1800 sats in OCT and selling it at 3000 sats in Late November. During the first week of May 2018 it surpassed 40k sats. lol

I also remember buying RIC (riecoin) at 1000 sats and selling at 800 sats because I was impatient. Just few days after I sold, it exceeded 3500 sats.

So the point is, hold it until it hits your target price.

2. I've always been an aggressive trader. I used to do some research on undervalued currencies with good volume and invest everything on it. This way, I either used to win BIG or lose BIG. Its best to split your money into 5-10 different currencies to avoid this. Yes you'll grow slow but its the smartest way of investing.

3. Never ever invest in currencies that are not listed on good exchanges or have very low volume.
During the last week of Dec I invested around 3k in a currency called CCore due to the fact that the market cap was less than 500k usd. Since then, ccore has doubled several times but I still haven't been able to sell my bags of this shitcoin because there absolutely no volume. The price doubled but there wasn't anyone willing to buy at that price. Finally I sold all my ccore tokens for 40% loss and decided to stay away from coins with such low volume.

Now I've realized that its best to invest 80-85% of the money in big projects and set aside 10-15% for projects that high potential and are undervalued.

Looking at the current market situation, its best not to freak out. Don't monitor the prices for few months or you might make bad decisions. I am absolutely confident that the market will rise again sooner or later as we've seen this happening multiple times during the last 5 years

Just hold coins that are promisng, hold until the right time and sell. Don't hold too long unless your coins are for long term hold so you should know also which is which. Don't just hold anything or else you're keeping a trash instead of gold. This market is a test of our patience and it will dictates how worthy it is.

Many coins won't be around in a year or 2 and so it is hard to tell people to hodl when the odds are against them. Only a few coins can make it and last a long time, most ICOs will not be in that category and so it makes sense to sell

I am a beginner. And I saw a lot of posts on the forum about what HODL tokens are needed, but many write that it might be useless. Until you get your own experience it is difficult to draw conclusions Smiley

Every mistake is a good lesson in our life. I'm sure this time you will get a better profit on the coins you are holding right now. Just cheer up because i think everybody has similar  experienced that too whether they are newbies or experience traders.

In my opinion it is natural to have it because in trade you need to do but when you hold it there is a good lesson will not be repeated again, but if you are in bitcoin you will have to keep earning faster and as long as you do not lose money, do not regret losing profit Better to be safe from regret.

Hodl of course. You need to follow a very simple strategy of setting a target sell price whenever you buy a coin and until that price is reached you shouldn't even think about selling your coin. This way you wont end up regretting your decision of selling early. You also need to stop checking the prices again and again and learn to be patient.

I regret once or twice in not believing in my investment. First with bitcoin i don't think in the past that bitcoin could go mainstream and it happens. I invest in an altcoin too after a couple of months it goes so much high in it's price and it left me hanging. Now whenever i feel my investment go down. I don't sell now but i rather do buying.
