Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin

Think its can be in handy future. Ethereum has more functions than Bitcoin. But Bitcoin being used as primary coin or currency its tough to overtake it. And nowadays Ethereum is also being accepted in ICO and also limited online store to accept as payment as the confirmation is fast and cost effective. I think it will be possible

This speculation may happen temporarily, but that does not mean ether can overtake bitcoin. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and it will remain so for long term to come! Ethereum will equally become very valuable but not at the expense of Bitcoin.

I will not believe this until it happens. We can say that Ether has a potential but will not happen this year nor next yyear. Price of coins climbing again but ETH is one of the slowest coin to climb. Don't get me wrong, I like Eth but it will not happen this year.

Well, first of all, you must understand that there is no logical comparison among Ethereum and bitcoin.

Bitcoin is created as an alternative to regular money and is thus a medium of payment transaction and store of value, Ethereum is developed as a platform which facilitates peer-to-peer contracts and applications via its own currency vehicle.

If your only sense for comparing both is the market capital, then my answer will be "It could be possible, but it will take years before that happen".
There are a lot many uptrends around Bitcoin, with lightning network coming in place and FOMO money driving in Crypto, the Bitcoin dominance is supposedly to increase back above 50%.

Ethereum has not been able to become a major competitor of Bitcoin in the matter of the value of saving and exchange rate. Fundamental Ethereum is indeed guaranteed by several major factors, such as the EEA association. So Ethereum still takes a long time to overtake Bitcoin

It might be exactly the other way around; the appearance of altcoins with better tech solutions is pushing BTC developers to keep up with the competition.

They are both very different technologies. But answering your question, if this happens it will never be in terms of price. It will be in terms of market cap. I feel ETH can overtake BTC’s market cap by mid 2018. If not overtake it’ll definitely be close to it.

I'm not convinced yet that etherium will ever overtake Bitcoin as the number one crypto currency because we all know that bitcoin has many more users and investors compared to etherium which is more younger. It's been always all over the news that bitcoin is on it's constant increase of it's market value despite some time when its market value fall down also. It always tend to rise up again covering up your losses and gaining profits just like what's happening in the crypto market today.

Due to the condition of the crypto market today I'm sure that ethereum will still find it hard to overtake bitcoin as of now. Actually, I don't see the future of ethereum. It is very impossible that ETH take over bitcoin. Bitcoin is very useful than ETH. There are some people now who use bitcoin as their money and many investing it cause they really see what is future of bitcoin in this cryptoworld.
