Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin

I don't think it will overtake it, ETH compliments BTC, i prefer trading with ETH due to transaction fees and times being way smaller, when dealing with other Altcoins ETH is my preference, for payments and reali life goods BTC is my mean of payment, i dont know if you got my point

In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency.  I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.

I think Eth has a lot of potential in its tank to increase; however, I don't see it overtaking Bitcoin this year, or in the few years to come. Although Ethereum has shown great endurance and strength in the way it has grown and from the manner it was able to withstood market movements that caused the down fall of many other altcoins, this solidified its standing in the market as one of the most reliable coins. I think that while its gaining more experience under its belt it has the potential to continually increase, but take in mind that bitcoin has more of than experience and endurance being that it is the pioneer.

I'm not saying that it is impossible, but what I think is that it will not happen soon. Bitcoin is still the leading cryptocurrency and is still increasing its value very rapidly hence I think that it will remain on top for quite some time.

In my opinion, Eth will never be valued as high as Bitcoin.

Bitcoin was developed as a store of value. It is meant first and foremost to be used as a currency, and that is what it is good at. People know Bitcoin to be the definition of a block-chain (as correct or incorrect as that maybe), and when they go to invest in crypto, they think about Bitcoin first. Bitcoin has the purpose, and Bitcoin has the branding.

Eth was developed as a platform for “smart contracts”. The currency, Ether, exists as a way to make transactions on the Eth, block-chain, but the block-chain's focus is on being a place for dapps to exist. People are less familiar with Ethereum. They only know it is Bitcoin’s younger, less valuable brother.
Ethereum doesn’t focus on value in currency, it focuses on providing a platform for others. On top of that, it is less well known by the general public.

I felt they offer different path. Bitcoin fast becoming storage of value. Erhereum becoming the defacto blockchain.
Bitcoin is status as big daddy of cryptocurrency is never gonna be replaced.

ETH can never compete with BTC as long as they are both PoW.

If ETH's fork to Casper leads to a successful PoS implementation than users will realise how profitable that can be.

I hardly believe that Bitcoin someone will be able to outrun - after all, the first coin. Of course, the ethereum has very good chances to be docked securely to the crypto-olimp, but in second place. Although, who knows, maybe Buterin will decide the issue with the cost and duration of the transactions and will win on Bitcoin.

I also think it was that bitcoin dropped last week and all altcoin down including ether, I think again all altcoin is fixed on bitcoin and ether has not put its foundation at fixed price but see now ether rise bit by bit to climb high value. 2018 not yet for him is worth the bitcoin I feel this is the biggest trial for bitcoin.
