Hmmmmmm.thinking about this......i don't think Ethereum will overtake bitcoin. Just because of the pump last time you thought that eth will overtake bitcoin? I don't think so. Bitcoin's market cap is growing. But since there was a correction, it will slow down.

actually there are two possibilities in this case, because ethereum shows a very remarkable development, but on the other hand, bitcoin also still have a strong position

At the moment i am pretty skeptic about this possibility , both coins are growing constantly so i don't think this is ever going to happen. The only possible scenario where Eth price can reach or pass BTC price is where miners and investors decide to give up on Bitcoin and move to something else!

We do not know what will happen tomorrow, and we might be surprised by such an event. Note that the value of Bitcoin at 1 year ago is less than the value of 1 Eth today. Moreover in the one year (January 2017 to January 2018) the value of Bitcoin increased by about 20 times, while the value of Ehterium increased a lot more (close to 100 times). Thinking about it, I will not be surprized  if Etherium reaches Bitcoin.

I think ethreum will reach bitcoin. Ethereum nowadays has many investors and supporters.  And ethereum is the only competitor of bitcoin.

If it will reach there, I think bitcoin will have climbed a lot above that price point already, and it will always be more valuable than ethereum will be.

I think yes but in 2-3 years time to the present btc rates, we see quite stable eth nowadays and I think in present and next years there will be more and more ICOs that will lead to ETH increase in price.

I do not think that Ethereum will ever surpass Bitcoin. However, I do think that Ethereum will always be the one right behind Bitcoin. But do I think that Ethereum is better than Bitcoin...absolutely.

Bitcoin will be like digital gold. token, to which the others are aligned. Ethereum is more convenient.

ETH has a lot of potential in beating btc prices but that would not happen soon, not this year but probably next year, so it is good to hold on first to those ETH coins until it reaches BTC prices now. That is the time you sell you ETH coins and make large profits. For now the potential and the noise ETH is making is a clear statement that ETH has a future.

Maybe ethereum can reach its high price value as much as bitcoin can do.But i think that ethereum has the ability to gain more and can also grow more that bitcoin can do.

Just wondering if ETH can

In long term, if ETH will be proof of ownership, and will release all the plans it is written in the last announcements than it can be traded at least 50% of btc. In 2018 I do not see that ETH will hit the same price as BTC

It will never reach BTC, be realistic. At least wait for it to reach like 0.25 of BTC before thinking like this, it can't even cross 0.10 of BTC. As long as it has not crossed at least 0.50 btc worth, it will never be able to catch up to BTC value.

there is nothing that is not possible to see growth in the current ETH nature.
I think 3 years or 4 years ETH bitcoin can be parallel.
although the current bitcoin remains firmly on top as the most powerful crypto currency.

ethereum price will always under bitcoin price mate,,
because bitcoin is the king without prince, so bitcoin will always be the king in cryptocurrency
just my opinion  Wink
Every coin can reach the price but definitely not the market cap. I can make 10000 coins and make each coin be worth 10 BTC but then people will just use decimal fractions of my alt coin

Of course, in this world everything is possible.
And I think that ETN can beat bitcoin, that's only when it happens not who does not know)
But there is an opportunity, and it is very large)

Bitcoin and Ethereum are two different creations. They do not focus on the same market applications or services. Both are way apart in terms of the purpose they were created for. Bitcoin primary goal is to serve as a decentralized currency while Ethereum is meant to provide a platform for dapps and smart contracts.

Ethereum price will always be somehow affected by those ICOs that use it and their performance. In contrast, Bitcoin price is only affected by Bitcoin itself (excluding external factors such as bans, regulations etc).

As per my understanding of the market, both have their place in the cryptocurrency world and are in no way in competition with each other.
