This is very surprising, i mean how is he going to bear this big lost. please the rest of us has to be careful in how we keep the details of our wallet, at least share it with your wife/husband or your child so that they can help when we are lost, this is too big to loose

Besides that of course the use of bitcoin will make illegal transactions increased, this is what makes the government does not want to legalize bitcoin. other than that the government feels it can not get any benefit from bitcoin.

This is actually one risk with bitcoin. I hope that the guy is okay now. It will be nearly to impossible to forget the past but bitcoin is still waiting for you now to change your future. Every day, we have a chance to do it so grab the opportunity and invest.

Just curious if he stills has the hardrive it still possible to recover the data .Even if he deleted all the data and reformatted his drive the data could still be there just needs a expert to retrive it .Send it to the FBI or some computer export and cut then a deal  Grin
Hmm now that's an idea.
I watched Linus visiting some tech company in Canada that is specialized in data recovery from any kind of accidents. I mean broken hdds and laptops in half, burned or flooded etc. I would send them and say come on dudes lets split 50-50 if you succeed.  Grin

Hehhe, this sounds like a challenge to hackers of our world. I would like to try, but I`m not as wise to hack a bitcoin account

This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

Ohh what a pity man.. such a horrible experience.. We should be responsible for our btc security.. good that he never lose hope and trust in btc.

It is like one piece treasure haha, it is sad because I know it is most likely impossible to brute force hack any online wallet so it is very hard to access those bitcoins. I wish they would make a feature on the wallet that would send its users verification and an authentication message set whenever they couldn't access their wallet for a couple of years and if that wallet is not accessed or confirmed by its owner then maybe it can be returned to the system to be mined again. I wonder how he sleeps in peace these days. It's really sad to see that the money you worked for, has become so virtual that you cannot gain access to it. Try to find out the file - somewhere, some folder, some file, some of your lot laptop ... it has to be somewhere. I would suggest to keep trying and not give up.

I hope you will eventually recover your bitcoins, don't give up dude, that's why we all must be very carefull to were we store our wallet dat Smiley

Never mind that losses you should invest more and hold it for long term.Sell your coin if the prices are stable reaches in a high value. I'm sure the 103 btc that you are losses will have more returns of your token that you are holding for.

I am sorry to hear what you experience. Hopefully,  you soon get a fortune doubled instead. I'm not sure all your bitcoins will come back. I just appeal to all digital wallet owners to be more careful about keeping your wallet. If once your wallet gets mugged then i'm not sure that your wallet will come back. If you can access the wallet again you should change the wallet so that similar things do n’t happen again. Make sure also the security of your wallet. Read in thread how to secure your digital wallet.

I wished I was that guy but I will promise that I won't lost my wallet files especially that it is offline wallet. That was a big lost and I am very sorry to hear this story. This unfortunate reminder may serve as a lesson for everyone to keep your bitcoins safely. It won't also hurt to buy full versions of security apps or programs to your pc and phones in order to increase the security of your files and info in the devices.

I am just google it that address and I am shock when I saw how he get by mining bitcoin on that year. But its really sad to see that amount of bitcoin can be traded because with recent price, it can buy a house and car in the sametime.

This is a fortune. Hope he has learned a lesson, never to keep all your coins just in one wallet, especially not such huge amount and not to be so careless about hte wallet and related data.
It's sad that nothing actually can't be done to recover those coins.
