I think that this is a very sad story, but it has already been published in here more than dozens of times already. Anyway, this is more than a theory, i am not sure if this is 100% real.

This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

It is Very sad to hear news like this. Although he lost when the bitcoin value was very low at that time. But I'm sure, everyone will be very disappointed if they lose their bitcoin. He collects little by little from the mine. After long collecting, he lost his wallet. Very sad. Hopefully this incident does not happen to us all.

But i have read an article where i found about four million btc gone forever.

Back in  2011 of course 103 bitcoin was not that big, and yeah why would a person do too much effort to recover 103 bitcoins back in 2011? But the thing is of course you will regret right now if you think that you had 103 bitcoin back then. You must be rich now with that 103 bitcoin. I hope I knew bitcoin back in 2011 already.

Oh, what a pity that you cannot restore someone else's wallets, after so many years. I would have helped him for a fee )))) Amazing, and where are stored or remain such amounts. Let's say person A sent the amount to person B, but the transaction didn't reach the recipient and got stuck somewhere? she never came back. So where is this transaction? who owns it?

Oh no thats a very heartbreaking news. What's worse is that its difficult or impossible to recover those lost coins so all you have to do is accept the fact that it's all gone. I hope someone could help you restore those.

That's a huge amount of bitcoin, I really feel sad for him, nothing we can do, also once you lose bitcoin or hacked, it's nearly impossible to recover that. So I hope now he will be more careful , how he store bitcoin.

If he lost that year, I do not think he was too upset because I thought that bitcoin had a low value. if he keeps it until now and he lost 103 BTC recently, I think he must have been very stressed and succumbed to crypto. Anyway it is a huge money, but, we cant live forever, so no need to to pray for money

That's a huge lost after mining for so many years and end up nothing, better to start back up your files every time you made a transaction and prevent putting such amount in single wallet, transfer your earnings  in different account, make 2-4 accounts for security purposes.

Yeah, bad luck for the guy, that's what to say... This is another reminder to all of us that all data on wallets need to be duplicated several times - on flash drives, on paper, etc.

Too bad for that guy, that's why Bitcoin should have mechanisms for lost or stolen BTCs like the post that I saw last week. Hope he recover soon.

Very sorry for him because it's pretty stupid. The loss of such amount of cryptocurrency is very expensive and not profitable to invest them wisely and soon to be in a huge plus.

If you lose money you're not making profit, that's obvious. Although you can make a profit out of loss.  Grin

That's a very disastrous story. Even I would probably be the saddest man if I will lose all my Bitcoins because of my own fault. He should probably back up multiple copies of it from the very start.

I think this person lost it because of his carelessness and it is totally his fault and there is no chance to blame bitcoin.
