Most of the community is focused on Digitalcoin (link in my sig)
SRC was made in response to Quark's 6month instamine, using bitcoin's reward scheme instead. I guess when Quark died SRC lost a lot of interest as well. The hashing scheme is neat but not really a market maker imo.
I always thought the dev's decision to make SRC was hasty. It's a solid coin though, no tricks or gimmicks. if there are still people mining it then it isn't dead.

Cryptsy 24H Trade Volume Quark 1.53BTC Digitalcoin 0.329BTC Securecoin 0.278BTC So if Quark is dead then DGC is ~4.65x more dead. When Baritus released SRC as a simple quark clone after all his claims that it was going to be revolutionary was when I first started to doubt anything Baritus promised...but it is still better than many alts of 2013 and pretty much anything released in 2014 (with exception of XMR and HYP). Quark algo is still the best and most secure with random hashing rounds not linear stepwise like X11/13/15. The self appointed Quark foundation and in particular silvermetal purposefully sabotaged Quark (and continue to do so) will relentless untrue smears and Securecoin is collateral damage.

Rimbit Co Ltd, the company behind Rimbit, is running a successful crowdfunding campaign ($132,606 raised) at Indiegogo: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/next-evolution-in-digital-currency. They are currently offering a buyout opportunity to holders of dead/dying coins. Because you believe in the crypto currency idea, you – at some stage – had faith in SecureCoin. They hope that by exchanging your dead coin for Rimbit, your faith will also move over to Rimbit. Users are the most valuable asset to any crypto currency and its community, and it would be a shame if you were to lose interest in the crypto currency idea because of a poorly developed coin, when there are viable alternatives like Rimbit. You should get in touch with them by posting at their forum: http://rimbitforum.com/forum/47-altcoin-buyout/

Is there a working block explorer?
The block explorer link on the securecoin website http://securecoin.org/mining/ is broken. This link http://altexplorer.net/chain/SecureCoin should either be removed or replaced by that of a working block explorer if anyone is to take securecoin seriously. An official website full of broken links reflects badly on a coin.

Imagine a future where IT infrastructures monitor themselves, are able to predict and respond to future business needs and can protect and heal themselves automatically.

New SecureCoin Wallet with security improvement - Securechain Wallet
Hi everyone, As the official SecureCoin website has stopped updating since 2013, the latest official SecureCoin-Core wallet v0.8.3 was released in 2013 compiled with the old version of OpenSSL 1.0.1e 11 Feb 2013, which includes serious security holes for example Heartbleed. To this point, we have developed a new Securechain Wallet with security and feature improvements based on the official one. For your coin's safety, please use or update to Securechain Wallet instead, which is built with the latest OpenSSL 1.0.2d 9 Jul 2015 to resolve the security problems. The Securechain Wallet description could be found at http://securechain.info/wiki/Securechain_Wallet, and the download page could be found at http://securechain.info/wiki/Download from which both the compiled binary and source codes could be found. Thank you for your support!
