I've seen - by searching 'linux' in this thread -- that other people have had this problem as well. Hopefully someone has a solution by now? If there is no solution I will reformat with Windows. I'm tired of nothing working on Linux...

I've never installed this under linux but obviously it can't find libleveldb.a and libmemenv.a

You could try installing the libleveldb-dev package, that should provide the leveldb libraries which are causing one of these errors.

There is talk of the libmemenv.a here https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/1964

Also see this post which shows a full installation script :

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I installed that libleveldb-dev, it didn't make a difference -- unless I need to restart or something(linux noob)?

I ran the full installation script. I don't have any obvious file to double-click to make the securecoin program run though. Is there something else I have to do?

Downloaded today and it says No block source available even after I added the short list of nodes from the first page.

Try the long list and if that doesn't work, download the block data and peers file that I linked under it.

I had a wallet die about 4 days ago.  Where are this files located?

Same problem here.
Just to be sure: I create a "securecoin.conf" in the directionary where the wallet lies and just add in differend lines "addnode=78.27.191.182", right?

It seems someone (the dev?) should update the node list on the OP. If you download the wallet from scratch it will not sync.

Try adding my permanent node into the securecoin.conf file :

178.237.35.34

The above IP will be active for years to come. It has 24 active connections to the SecureCoin network right now.

If that doesn't work are you sure you are using the correct location for the securecoin.conf file ?

What OS and file location are you using ?

Thank you for your reply.

I'm using Win7 x64. This is my location for the securecoin.conf file: C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Securecoin

I have this securecoin.conf file with your node in first place:

Code:
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=12568
daemon=1
server=1

addnode=86.2.171.203
addnode=208.77.217.7

I got this code from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270852.msg3038287#msg3038287 via http://securecoin.org/getstarted/

I've found other nodes in http://digitalcoin.co/forums/ my final securecoin.conf file is this:

I copied BioBTC's config and it's finally working for the first time after a week. The main posts need to be updated because this really pissed me off that the wallet app wasn't working.

Why wasn't it automatically downloading when I run the program like the other 5 coins I've mined?

I have built an online wallet for another coin, but would be trivial to adapt it to SRC. Just wondering if the community would find it useful/use it , if there is interest I can take the time to port it to SRC.
What do you say ?

We have been beta testing our online wallet for a week or so now, and will be publicly announcing it shortly. It is the most secure online wallet available and is built for all of the Digitalcoin community's coins (DGC, ARG, SRC) -- https://mywl.lt/

Hello,

Does anyone know how to find the total number of SRC currently in circulation?

Reading through this thread, I'm seeing post after post after post with extremely technical information and mining questions.

This is a great sign, that so many technical people are supporting this coin.  However, it would be nice to see more of an emphasis on marketing, like in the Stablecoin or Quarkcoin threads.

For example:

- Securecoin doesn't even have a dedicated forum, and the section on digitalcoin forum dedicated to securecoin isn't very active yet: http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/board,14.0.html

- reddit.com/r/securecoin isn't very active yet either

- The block explorer has been down for a while, so securecoin isn't on coinmarketcap.com

I love the concept of this coin.  I'm hoping to see the hype pick up soon.

Thanks,
Will

My wallet says there are 149135 blocks * 5 coins per block. You can do whatever % margin you want for your guess.
