YES all blocks get ? and then disappear??

That is what you would expect from a brand new coin.
Everybody is solo-mining, difficultly is extremely low, and there are few network connections.
This means that loads of independent chains are quickly forming, then being knocked out by neighboring ones.
Basically, people are generating blocks faster than the network is passing them around.

compile errors anyone?

/misc/src/leveldb.h:23: undefined reference to `leveldb::WriteBatch::WriteBatch()'
obj/txdb.o: In function `~CLevelDBBatch':
/misc/src/leveldb.h:23: undefined reference to `leveldb::WriteBatch::~WriteBatch()'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [securecoind] Error 1

Had the same/similar issue. Need to give execute (+x ) permissions to src/leveldb/build_detect_platform  otherwise leveldb will not build.

The first blocks are hardly worth anything because of the orphaning tendency at the beginning of all coins. The difficulty retargets every 500 blocks instead of the original 1000, so it shouldn't last long.

Doesnt help. ive given it +x already.

edit: ok.

chmod +x src/leveldb/build_detect_platform
thats the fix., It did not work for me since i ran a make to test things. needed to do a make clean in leveldb directory

Odd, that was the only thing keeping me from compiling the daemon (Ubuntu 13.0.4 with typical coin compiling dependencies installed).
