Recently Bloomberg posted the information that it took hackers less than 10 years to steal over 14% of all existing Bitcoins and Ethereum from the wallets of their holders. The total sum they have stolen is more than $1,2 billion! How to protect yourself from hackers attacks? Are you afraid of this stuff?
yes i am they attack big industries hat is stooping them to attack small home pc's i mean you can just take precautions against these attacks They could do anything they want because in the real digital world there's no one safe and even blockchain couldn't protect itself without developers who try to find ways to penetrate and patches instantly every time they spot vulnerabilities of the system. Hackers aren't always a bad guys because most of them are cracking corrupt corporations and they just want to distribute the wealth fairly as what their doing these days.

So sad that all your cryptocurrencies can steal someone smarter than you. But anyway most of thefts are caused by the users stupidity and carelessness.

I think no. Not really afraid. But still the percentage of risk exists. It's like in any other business. So, the main thing is not to panic. Here is also recent news, that One of the largest crypto currency exchanges in Japan, Coincheck, confirmed on Friday, January 26, a major theft of funds from the platform. In total, it is claimed about theft of 58 billion yen ($ 533 million) in the NEM (XEM). So it's worth thinking about protection and how to protect yourself in the best way. To study, analyze. Good luck!

Oh, by the way, who else does not know the hackers stole $ 150,000 in Ethereum from the investors of the Experty startup. So be afraid or not, it's up to you. But if you do not secure yourself in the best way, then your problems. Experts expect that in 2018 new standards for ICO will be introduced, and projects will demonstrate prototypes before fundraising, as well as pay more attention to security issues. After all, when hackers steal investor funds, collective claims are not brought against direct intruders, but against project representatives.

I think this will be a good move, we all feel depressed every time someone hears the money stolen, I hope this new system can help us to be able to minimize from hackers attack

Of course, this is scary if you look at the overall statistics of hacking over the past year. More than 10% of the funds collected during the ICO are lost due to fraud! The project's founders concentrate on attracting investors, rather than on security, therefore attacks are most often subjected to the loudest ICO: hackers attract volume, rush, lack of centralized control, irreversibility of transactions and information chaos. The most popular type of attack by 2017 was phishing, followed by DDoS attacks, hacking of the site or applications, cyber attacks through company employees, IT infrastructure or investors, as well as hacking of exchanges and purses.

Who is not afraid of hackers? We all are because it is our hard-earned money that they steal. Due to technology and promise of easy money hackers are spawning like mushrooms. I have even read a news article that a certain country trying to steal another country's crypto for a purpose of financing it's militarization project.

You just must be accurate and attentive using data of your wallet. Don’t follow suspicious links and don’t log in in such sites, sure. I think it all depends on our precaution. We live in modern world and we should be ready for such things.

Here's the advice of investors and experts, edited for clarity and style:
Jonathan Levin, co-founder of Chainalysis
1. Before you open up an account on Coinbase [or other exchanges], set up an unique email that you are going to use for that account.
2. Make sure to set a really hard and long password, and you are the only one to access it from a piece of paper that you control.
Dan Romero, VP of operation at Coinbase
1. On Coinbase, turn off SMS-based two-factor authentication and account recovery for your email account. If you move to Google Authenticator but don't turn off SMS account recovery, a phone port attack can still lead to an email compromise.
2. On Coinbase, setup the Coinbase Vault and two-factor authentication for any sends off-site.
Sean Everett, VP of product management, Coinbase account was hacked by phone porting attack
1. Don't talk about cryptocurrency publicly, especially on social media.
2. Call your cellphone provider, put every level of security you possibly can, and add a passcode to it. The next level protection is to add a "do not port" SIM card to your account. That can last for a year.
3. Even though Coinbase says it takes security seriously and has system designs to protect customers, it's not a bank. Don't trust it as such.
Adam Dachis, digital consultant, Coinbase account was raided by a computer hack
Don't keep all your cryptocurrency investments in one place. Diversify among exchanges. It's unlikely you are going to get hacked at the same time through all of them. Especially if you have different emails and passwords for each.

One of my fears of such online transactions is hackers because all of my earnings are stolen especially when your earnings are huge, so let us keep in mind that if we receive messages that are not related to transactions or to be strict we are.

People should use safer browsing habit and along with that should diversify their bitcoin and altcoin holdings in as many places as possible. Exchanges, online wallets and hot wallets in gambling sites. If you are not using it regularly, you can just export the private key in encrypted form and remove every trace of its existence.
Yes got it thanks for your advice sir.
