if my calcs are right, a block every 30min @ 500Mh/s would be ~.000332 BTC /Mh/s   I believe that is a decent round, in comparison to our current crop of coins.  Of course, it wouldn't take much bad luck to swing that quite a bit the wrong way.

I'm no statistical genius but if we mined the most profitable coin (even with a 30 min average block) in the medium/long term then we would still win out even if some rounds did not yield a coin?  In other words if the BTC-per-minute-mined of a coin was the consistently the highest would it matter if the block was achieved in a number of shorter rounds some of which did not yield anything?

Just throwing it out there for finer minds than mine to consider.

You are absolutely correct, but most miners don't look at it over the long term. A few rounds with no reward will lead to a bad day and they will start filling up this forum complaining. Just read over the other multi coin pools' threads.

And they would have a point. Miners are not supposed to have loyalty to a pool that does not have loyalty to a coin

I'm not sure I understand what point you are making. I was just saying that there will likely be a number of rounds with no reward, which will be moaned about, but over a longer timeframe the rewards will be better.

Where does loyalty come into it?

There is no "loyalty" in a multicoin pool that hits the best prof coins.

In fact, it's the other way around.

In unrelated news, I cashed out a couple of BTC in my Coinbase account to my bank and the funds arrived in less than 24 hours, in fact, overnight. Shocked

Something strange is going on..  One of my 2 cards all the sudden started overheating today..  It is getting up to 90+ before CGWatcher shuts it down..

I have never had a over heat issue until today..  They normally both run at 80...

Any ideas?

the only reason to be loyal to a coin is if it is a coin you use in every day dealings.  for example i am loyal to CraftCoin because i play on a mine craft server that is using it!

Speaking of CraftCoin how's it looking as an addition to the site?

If I've helped you, who knows it could happen =) PLZ donate      BTC - 34CGHYkhKi2eFP5GBhtsNpQdFvrxo7WT1u     LTC - WfGiVRgBTLWzfiEfg69QVReWiDvMuQxxHW

I see you have added FTC and unfortunately hit some bad luck on your first round Sad
Just to be ahead of people complaining here about wasting their electricity for 40 minutes: it will even out over time.
The next rounds of FTC might hit above average and you won't complain then Wink

I am happy FTC is in there, great work cows.

Hmm. I think the solution is to add more hash....

The more hash we have, the more we will hit the FTC blocks, period.

And now that FTC is here, i'm tempted to switch over my remaining (middlecoin) hash, for which I believe FTC has been a mainstay as relates to their profit numbers.

Manual isn't either.  I tried withdrawing BTC a few hours ago and again a little while ago and neither went through even though I got the "Queued" green pop up.

Did you take FTC out again?
Right now it seems to be the most profitable to mine, but we are on MEC for a while now.

It's active we just decided to hit it with a profitability hit. We currently think that if a coin is slightly less profitable it would still be better for us to farm it, rather than try to compete with the other multipools and the bigger hash. We will keep our eye on it though.

I have noticed that my hash rates are now about 30-40% lower (2 mh/s instead of 3.3mh/s).

Could you make an adjustment on the Vardiff about 30% lower so that the miners are at full tilt mining shares?

Thanks.

Cashouts should not do this...
Successfully queued 0.10825330781448221 BTC for cashout.

It should only send out the last 8 digits and not the whole balance.
Please ensure only the last 8 digits are paid out... the rest can say in the account.

eg:
Successfully queued 0.10825330 BTC for cashout.
Balance Remaining 0.00000000781448221 BTC in holdings.

I know this is petty change, but since BTC is growing over 150$/BTC, who knows... it may hit $100000 in the future and those change will be worth 150$.
