anyone who has experience running ubuntu?

Recently had to use an older computer for my cards, running ubuntu 12.10 32bit with 2gb ram and cgminer 3.5.0, using the latest drivers from amd. I have a 6950 and a 6970 but only getting around 500 kh/s with both cards combined, compared to 900-1000 I had when running on a win 7 64bit 8gb ram computer (also 3.5.0).

I don't have any special settings, just the pool information and an intensity of 19, no hardware errors, GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
and GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 has been set.

export DISPLAY=:0
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100

Make sure your running those commands before every cgminer starts
May want to look into setting your thread concurrency on each card to see if that helps
Some settings here - https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison#AMD_.28ATI.29

Help with undervolting - http://www.cryptobadger.com/2013/10/undervolting-in-linux-via-modified-bios/
Good thread to help get you running - www.reddit.com/r/litecoinmining/comments/1fb5qs/step_by_step_headless_linux_setup_from_scratch/

Thanks for the help, though I have tried most of that. The undervolting guide is unfortunately only for 7xxx cards, but I solved that by using AMDOverdrive, while at the same time overclocking the card. Thing is they have a lower hashrate overclocked on the ubuntu than they had on the windows machine on stock settings, I tried settings various thread concurrencies and work sizes but it doesn't make a difference. As of now the 6970 is on around 360 kh/s, and the 6950 around 300 kh/s, compared to 505 and 420 while on the windows machine.

Edit: I tried severely undervolt and underclock the 6970 and the hash went up with about 50, thinking there is something fishy with my settings

Firstly let voltages on their defaults (You can lover voltages later when everything will run smoothly) and find best HR peak by setting default clocks on both CORE/RAM and then increasing (or even decreasing) them by 10 MHz on the fly, while CGminer run. Some cards do their best underclocked a bit and some do even better with the same engine / memory clocks.

Don´t deal with crappy shitcoins and stop wasting electricity
Support real science instead

did pretty much this, worked much better. Strange that I didn't experience these issues when I overclocked in windows.

Oh well, all is well, thanks people.

From the doge thread, I don't think they realize the hashpower here but something to watch out for.

multipool & middlecoin is killing us.

They autosell every doge mined, it will have such negative influence on our currency  Sad

Any idea for taking both out of the way? DDoS'ing them is possible?

I personally keep all my doge and I encourage people to do the same. The good thing about us is we give every person the option to keep or auto-sell.

I agree that more people should hold and see how high this thing can go!

Dogecoin will fall as quickly as it became popular if we keep auto-selling them as soon as mine them. That being said, I'm making three times as much as I was before doge, so let's see how long we can keep it going!

WE ARE slightly BROKEN

Several times during this doge round #5625, pool stats have lost track of how long it has been going, as well as thinking people are at zero hashrate, and/or that users have contributed NO shares for the 4 hours.
Refreshing the main screen from time to time, hashcow alternately reports it has been on this round just a minute,  or sometimes the full 4+ hours.  Est unexchanged balance has not changed in half a hour and accepted shares are going up VERY slowly and sometimes not at all. I suspect the database is leaking because of our new all-time-high usage and we may be in trouble.

We are fine, don't panic. Things you are seeing are just display errors, you're payout will be awesome.

Where can you even exchange DOGE if you were holding them?

Bter and BTC-e both don't have it.

Good point; where do the cows go to trade these coins?

I just uncheck my auto-trade box. (payout to BTC)
Then set my payout threshold in my Dogecoin balance to 999999999. This means that my coins will sit in the pool until it hits that impossible to reach number. When i am ready to cash in i will go into my user settings and check the auto-trade box and apply it.

Will that work? i haven't tried dumping them yet. Yes i know its not "safe" but its only 40,000 or ~$100 worth so far.

It has decent enough buy support to keep it above .000001 for the immediate term (next few hours maybe), but I agree, it's best to move it while the moving is good. I just don't see the  million plus USD flowing into doge day after day that would be needed to keep prices where they are with 1.44 x 10^9 DOGE being created each day. I hope we exit quick and take that sweet sweet BTC.
