I really like Hobonickels, holding for more than a year now and happy to be part of. But its a pain in the ... getting it synched up.. 5 days behind takes almost 14hours and it is slowing down my PC drasticly , i dont have that with other Coins. Is there a solution to get it done faster?

I agree. Wallet and chain need some help. Not sure how to fix. I am running a mac wallet and still waiting for an updated version so my wallet doesn't ALWAYS say WARNING: Checkpoint too old. Fortunately my wallet is fully synced but have to load terminal and increase max files for it to open properly.
Hopefully a new Mac wallet some day???
HBN needs some activity or something to bring the price back up.
I have been with hobo for about 21-22 months now and have been staking forever. Love the coin.Very happy with my stakes.
Not happy about price. Wish it would start going up again though. Already own close to 100k.

Had this problem and sent all my coins to new wallet. Soame with any other slow coins with lots of transactions Recently did for CAP and TEK also.

Closed .qt - Named wallet.dat = wallet.dat.funds -Reopened .qt creating new wallet.dat - Copied new wallet address (suggest save in .txt file). closed .qt - rename wallet.dat=wallet.dat.new & wallet.dat.old = wallet.dat -re-open .qt -send coins to addy of wallet.dat.new - if don't want to lose days - can send after daily stakes. Once all are sent and wallet.dat empty - close .qt delete empty wallet (or re-name wallet.dat.empty) - then, re-name wallet.dat.new to wallet.dat

Result clean, fast new wallet - not bogged down by 1,000's of transactions.

Does that mean that the historical transactions in the wallet are one of the main factors slowing the last part of the sync ?

It would be nice to have some wallet auto-regeneration or something

I wish we could upgrade to blackcoin/opalcoin sync code, it's far easier with those, but it may be because of the blockchain size

the only way to fix current situation is to exchange HBN into new HBN somehow.
then chain would go small again and such...

A  1:1 swap to a new chain would be great but a huge project to
make sure nothing falls through the cracks, coin owners missing stakes,
exchange (only 1 is easier), pools (not too many). Biggest challenge is
lead time so everyone knows.
