tekcoin is in maintenance on cryptsy.
"Our wallet is currently offline due to issues with the coin's blockchain"

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange?market=TEK_BTC

Is working Normally.

 Cool

Great Exchange! No problems I can remember..
all coins from my staking basket are here

peace

Yes cryptopia is very good, the volume is just low but we can change that  Grin

And as I've been warning, cryptsy is suspect.

Yeh.. we who buy must give it a try

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

And those who sell... must tell? Selling about 8k-ish now, my first time using Cryptopia and I already prefer it to Cryptsy Cheesy

Did they ever get this resolved?  Or just add it to their list of problems?

It is also much cheaper to buy TEK at Cryptopia then at Cryptsy..

if you want to buy 1000tek at Cryptsy you would need 0.00683btc
..but at Cryptopia 1000tek is just 0.0047btc
the spread is huge

 Great for BUYers
Going to place my BUY there right now

When the Cryptsy is down - the perfect time to check for alternative markets
BTCPool is so far advanced that I clould not complete registration and login Smiley
From what I see as a fast working replacement with atleast some trading VOLume is Cryptopia
just done very nice buy

EDIT: great start! Vol is little up! I can see some trading now.. People who have their BUY orders at Cryptsy - just cancell your orders and withdraw BTC (I have withdrawn with no problem today)
Then very fast deposit to Cryptopia and be one who buys Tek lower then at Cryptsy

Ok! Here comes insight from Gri!bgo
What to do with millions of coins in the future? BURN them  Grin
Yes Can we ask our DEV team to consider burning option in the wallet?
Let this burn option be the process that will somehow destroy coins in exchange for the new generated address unique to this wallet i.e. proof-of burn
If coins send to this address they can stake at 41% no matter of the difficulty level
..lets say burn 100000tek = get address staking at 41% per 30 days
perhaps we can make something like if you burn  200000tek then the new address will stake at 42% etc until 50%
So that would solve two issues answer the question WHY BUY TEK? Smiley
And what to do with millions of coins ...and the hard fork is not out just yet
First I was thinking of - How you can improve the virtual miner? - you must make the one that mines Moooore!!! Smiley
That would prove that this wallet had received lots of coins through its life and ready to upgrade  Wink
the numbers and the concept need to be discussed here and ..peace to you all

77 wallets are offline at Cryptsy at the moment and Tek is one of them. If you are looking for coins to get your balance out with, HoboNickels and Sprouts are being processed quickly. I found Sprouts to be the best. It is currently at what I consider to be a bargain price.

When I tried to buy HoboNickels, I bought a few and the useful quantities suddenly disappeared and reappeared further up the sell wall at a much higher price. Algorithmic shenanigans?

tekcoin is in maintenance on cryptsy.
"Our wallet is currently offline due to issues with the coin's blockchain"

Did they ever get this resolved?  Or just add it to their list of problems?
My question is:
Is there something wrong with the tekcoin blockchian?
if not
Why is cryptsy saying there are issues with the coin's blockchian?

Doubtful , as no one else has reported problems.
Cryptsy problems appear isolated just to their exchange as Cryptopia & the block explorers seem fine.

Now, it seems to be my turn to have synching issues. I'm stuck about five days back. The usual voodoo hasn't worked, and I'd like to NOT bootstrap if I can avoid it. Any ideas prior to a full bootstrap?

I'm hesitant in giving you advice because you have my ultra-respect. I've not tried syncing recently, because I had a very successful minting a short while ago. Try getting rid of cookies and other garbage slowing down your computer with the free version of Ccleaner https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Try turning off your anti-virus program.

But I'm playing to the gallery here. Please tell me that you found my advice was useful and that all is well!!!

Unfortunately, not at all, as I run Ubuntu linux. But it's good advice for Windows, and probably useful for others. Not sure it would apply to this particular problem, anyway, but you never know. I tried launching it with it being the only service running other than my basic OS related stuff, no change, also tried deleting peers.dat and getting some known good peers from somebody with a synched wallet. That made it launch faster, but it still didn't go past the block it's stuck on.

Hadn't thought of that! There are coins in stake, that could very well be the issue. I'll get back to you after I try it Cheesy
