I was looking to solo mine with my 3 antminer s1's, but couldn't even get the antminer to see the tekcoin client. Then I thought about setting up a private pool, php based?

TEK should just get rid of PoW mining if no one is able to use it.

Not a good idea and also not true, PoW mining is usable(tricky maybe yes). 20TH of mining gear wouldn't be sitting on it if it wasn't usable. Also pow provides a large amount of the network speed, security, and stability. It is also an additional layer of distribution. Getting rid of PoW does nothing positive for the coin, it would undermine the speed and stability of the network in a major way.

Tek is always very fast in transactions, because PoW stays clicking out 1 block per minute the PoS system isnt structured in a way right now that it can reliably sustain transactions 1 per minute. Even if you hardfork the PoS to change it 1 per minute somehow.. you still only have a single layer, today Tek has 2 layers and that has proven itself to be  a great advantage. The hybrid nature of Tek is why it has been able to be fast and stable without barely a single hiccup in over a year.

I also think there is some value in not changing a coins original core systems unnecessarily. Changing the rules in the middle of the game usually ends up being unfair to somebody.

I wonder how easy it would be to 51 TEK  Huh

Im not a PoW guy, so this isn't a threat. But a serious question. Would it take much hash?

To make 51% PoW attack on TEK you need also 51% of coins.

Just a question: how many PoW blocks in a row a single PoS block could kill for TEK?

Assuming the PoW stays stable and you have nothing on TEK PoW you would need to put ~21TH on TEK to achieve 51% of the network AND would need ~1462012 coins at block 610847.  This is a guess as I'm not 100% sure what the network weight and # coins staking is so I'm basing it off having >50% of the current available coins.

why attack a coin if they have 51% , tek is good the way it is, not fix if not broke

possible, but pointless, and expensive.  No different than another coin.

For TEKcoin community.. I think it is now time to act to support the coin!
The way it could be done is to have multipool that will place TEKcoin BUY orders at Cryptsy (or any other exchange) and pay miners in TEK
We need to crowdfund this Multipool! I ask Biomech or Thundertoe to take it in hands ..if not done now it will happen in HYPerStake and mining power will be there...
thank you all people

I don't currently have the necessary skills to build one. I know how to build single coin pools using MPOS and NOMP, and I'm learning coinium-serv, but I have no idea how to sucessfully build or operate a multipool. I could possibly assist somebody taking on such a project, but that's about the extent of it.

Also, on the issue of building a windows wallet, so far I've not gotten it done. I apologize, but there are huge demands on my time, and I just haven't gotten it done. I don't use Windows as a general rule, so it's a bit of a struggle.

Every time I set a definite goal, shit comes up at work Cheesy So I'll just say I'm working on it, and encourage others to do the same. I'm pretty sure it can be done with everything but windows itself being open source.

I thought there already is a windows wallet.

The version of August 29 (latest version) generated Trojan warnings in some AV programs. Previous versions did not. Discussion started on page 111 - lots of back and forth from various players between then and now. I think a version that doesn't make the AV programs twitch will be available Real Soon Now if all goes well.               Grin

There are two. They throw AV flags, though I'm certain they're false. Its nevertheless an issue that the linux users don't have, and something that needs addressed. I am trying to put together a step by step guide for the non technical people to compile their own Win wallet, so the issue of trust is resolved. Unfortunately, time has been against me.

I use Avast as my antivirus software and it doesn't see any virus. I also use combofix and it doesn't see it either.

As a newbie, HYPster may not yet realize that his post history is available for anyone to see, or that he can just put someone on his ignore list rather than trying to bully them into silence. In any case, HYPster was vocal yesterday. From another coin thread, six minutes before his flame here:

Is everyone here a fucking baby??? Gimme gimme gimme now or I throw a fit and complain non-stop until the dev answers my PM or whatever. Grow the fuck up you whinebags. Dev is busy working, he doesn't have time to answer your whinny bitch asses. You don't like it SELL. Otherwise STFU and go with it. You read right....LONGTERM man LONGTERM...ie....dev won't post here every single day. LIVE with it!! damn....
