What does Adam B Levine have to say about NXT?" I have 8 projects that I am working on. So far we have two of them on Counterparty, one of them on Mastercoin.. I want to do one on NXT, pretty much as soon as possible. They have some of the best software out there as far as I have seen. The wallet is really outstanding. It's funny, it's like looking at what a future version of bitcoin will be. But, you know, it's here now and you can see it."http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcFGR_VUheA&feature=share&t=15m15sLTBcoin and the Future of Media - Q&A #1 Mises

What are the current ideas of having coins on top of Nxt:
- Coins via Asset Exchange - Coins as parallel blockchains - Using AM (How? And is this idea dismissed?) - ...?
The "checking in" of the parallel chains on the master chain is planned to be done with AMs. A snapshot will be taken of a parallel blockchain and then stored in the master via AM. CfB will disagree if I am wrong. Hopefully. I don't know what CfB has in mind, but it seems to me that the master chain should be implemented as a separate blockchain with its own API for snapshot-check-in and snapshot-get. I'm assuming the snapshot will be a hash digest of a set group of blocks from the chain, but I'm not clear on this. Related to the topic of parallel block chains is the issue of having a way to differentiate one chain from another. Perhaps a per-chain GUID? Each parallel chain should be a disjointed set, but at the moment this isn't truly the case. The example that comes to mind is the two chains we currently have: the live chain, and the testnet chain. At the moment it is possible to make a transaction on one chain and then replay it on the other chain. This is why CfB is adamant about not using real accounts on the testnet. If the two chains each had a separate unique identifier, this would not be a problem as a transaction specified for one would be invalid on the other.

im having a hard time with this POW pool thing. I have no clue on running pools, but I should be able to come up with some cron scripting to handle the API between the pool and coinwarz, and between the pool and an exchange. so if someone that has experience with pools wants to work with me we can split the bounty.
Or if someone can point me to some pool server software. All Ive found is eloipool, a python based one, but is seems to come with no self-registration webpage, etc etc. so if anyone can point me in the right direction on this or wants to work with me let me know

The whales could agree to sell NXT to key community members at a fixed price in the future once the price gets over a certain point. For example, a big stakeholder could agree to sell 100,000 NXT to a critical NXT activist at 10 cents USD each any time in future. That person then has a 'potential' stake in NXT that maybe they don't currently have. They might exercise their 'option to trade' when 1 NXT=1USD, so in effect they would get 90,000 NXT. I imagine this proposal might appeal to 'active' members of the NXT community who feel they aren't being compensated enough for their efforts.
I like this idea about the issuance of options. I am new to NXT. Can an Asset be created that would represent such options, so that they can be issued irrevocably by any holder of NXT, so that the recipient could choose to "exercise" those options at any later date and convert them into NXT. This could clearly be done with Ethereum. What about NXT?

why have you not been backing me up in the past when I have been suggesting this? I don't read all the posts. For everyone's reference to discuss: I view the fee as a blockchain spam deterrent, any possible ROI is secondary IMHO. We don't have any major activity on the blockchain at the moment. All is relatively quiet, but that will change as services are added and merchants begin to use NXT for payment. After only a few short months of very little activity the full blockchain is already over 50 megs on disk.
I think the fee should only be changed if the price of NXT goes up significantly. My 0.25 NXT minimum fee vote was based on the thought of 1 NXT going to the stable range of $0.15 to ~$0.30 cents US in the next six months.
I still say trying to tie the fee to some FIAT is the wrong direction. Ill say it again - a transactions's fee should be tied to its byte size on the blockchain. So lets say a NXT transfer is 128bytes, and its fee is .1NXT, so then an AM or alias transaction of size 256bytes should then cost .2NXT, and other transaction types follow the same method of fee determination. We would determine a "base" transaction that is the smallest possible transaction, and set the .1 NXT fee to it. (or .01 or .05 or whatever the community decides) and then scale every other transaction's fee to be based on its size compared to the base one. But no one likes my idea. This proposal will require a bit more code; but for the moment I think a straight .1 NXT for all works, as it will encourage more use for now. BUMP. BTW, my reply to the above was: I like your idea. I think it makes perfect sense.

pool servers version of nodecoin/nodeminer is on https://github.com/jl777/multigateway
nodeminer will pick a pseudorandom poolserver to use from list of 25 (easy to change). If it gets failures in submitting, it switches to the next pool server. There is a server behind all the 25 that is not accessible directly that polls the 25 pool servers, combines all the peer data submitted (much harder than it sounds) and allocates the coins based on how many times an IP address is an active peer. A NXTacct is allowed one IP address per block. Not perfect, but I think a pretty reasonable method. You will only get coins if you run nodeminer and after 100 are accumulated. The realtime reporting is disabled for now. I started ~125 instances on different IP's so each NXTacct gets ~1 coin per block If anybody gets nodecoins without running nodeminer, that is a bug. If anybody doesnt get nodecoins after running nodeminer for a few hours, that is a bug. If anybody can mod nodeminer.c to get more nodecoins than they should, that is a bug. Of course, anybody that can crash the pool servers or the backend server, that is the best bug James P.S. The dogegateway is offline for now, they released a hard fork version and didnt have a chance to update

My question.... If nxt is trying to move into many different areas, not just currency, but also internet, apps, file sharing, messaging, then can it and will it work in China? Will China's firewall block nxt, or because of the decentralized nature will it be impossible to block? My reason for asking is that because so many portals in China are blocked, could somebody make a nxt web copy of the New York Times for instance and charge any visitor looking at that nxt app/portal/outlet a very small charge of something like 0.0000001 nxt? If this is possible and nxt was able to make a series of services that could by pass the great firewall, not just in China, but many other countries too, I think there could be a good market for this service. Like a 1 billion person market.
