I can try to answer that. Not so soon!

Because JL just introduced fractional NXT and fractional Assets. This needs some good testing before it can go live!

Thanks for the information. So we're talking couple of months here.

While I do understand that such a sophisticated exchange needs proper testing I am not that sure that we need to implement all the mentioned features for an initial release. Couldn't they be implemented step by step? Or is it too difficult code wise? People may lose interest. Also not everybody wants to use all the upcoming features. So I think a simple good looking client with a basic exchange might be more sensible at the beginning. Otherwise we just end up implementing terrific features while the launch is being postponed further and further.

Thank you

dont we also need multigateways to be fully functional and tested with a few different cryptos also? and james + wesleys secret project.. and this fiat support that james has also mentioned..  Cheesy

AE and multisignaturegateway are two complete different things. What you are thinking is a simple fiat gateway or btc gateway within the AE. This just works with tokens that a trustworthy person sells, that can be redeemed for a real btc

this arent really features, they are basic things that are needed. How else would you trade a dogetoken vs NXT? we need fractional everything.

If our client and ae works perfectly it will be way better than a shitty ae at start. could ruin us!

Multisig gateway will enhance AE like any other service for Nxt will. But it isn't necessary for AE.

Yes , multisiggateway will be nice, but afaik it is NOT part of AE it is an additionL feature to trade cryptos trustless.

i think thats going to be one of the major things that pushes nxt ahead of the rest.. im guessing mastercoin didnt/doesnt have multigateway??
Nobody else has multigateway and certainly nobody else has the secret project.

With all the recent changes in AE, probably a couple of weeks before it can be considered for mainnet. Not sure, btc2nxt and l8orre are the ones testing it the most.

multigateway cant go live before AE, but I am working toward testnet release this month. The switch to a websockets interface added a bit of delay, but its really cool to be able to talk to multigateway using URLS

Every new release to the mainnet will be very important from now on.

I vote for calling a clear release date/deadline so we can use; nxtcountdown.com

We can invite/inspire more new users with this method. But also educate them with a little text/video or redirect them to other NXT websites to keep nxtcountdown.com clean.

15 May for Asset Exchange for example.

All we need is to agree on a release date. How can we manage this? With our new forum?

imho, having a countdown may not be that much of a great idea after all,

look at how Coutnerparty AE went live. the announcement was made 2-3days before the actual release on main net, and things went smoothly so far, price has even pickep up a bit.

In contrast, mastercoin announced the release of its AE long ago before the actual date with all the countdown and expectation and stuff, just to (again imho) disappoint most of the users. and yes u guess it right on the price part, it dropped significantly.

i am not a fan of a countdown, i prefer short notice of 2-3days before the actual release.

has anyone ever thought contacting the devs of (or creating) gaming apps eg candy crush, flappy bird, angry bird ect.. and look into paying people to play the games with nxt? like you earn .1 nxt per game point or what ever? perhaps you could use the nxt you earn to skip levels/buy stuff ect.. when you start the game you just insert your nxt address?

perhaps it would be best to just create a new one.. where 50% of profits are fed into paying the game players?

imagine how many more people would play the likes of candy crush if you could actually make 100 euro a week out of playing it?

instead of being awarded in game points (if you have a nxt acc entered) you are awarded in game points "assets" to the account you have entered.. and these points are then sold back to the dev and recycled.. it would add monetary value to the consumer and attract far more poeple.. even career gamers if the profits were high enough lol

perhaps an early stakeholder would like to help fund the creation of an app that feeds 100% of profit from the game minus overheads back to the gamers.. the more money it makes the more the gamers get paid the more gamers the more pay ect ect.. if a full time dev is needed just reduce the percent so his salary is included.. any ideas?

How exactely are the NXT financed? Out of thin air?

Or does the early stakeholders pay the players?
