What r the main differences between Internet 1.0 and 2.0?

Internet 1.0 is "centralised" with a DNS system and the CA cert system and the use of "big servers" to provide "centrally controlled" applications such as say Banking, Google or Facebook.

Internet 2.0 is "decentralised" with no DNS system (the reason I don't like unique aliases) and no centralised CA cert system as well as no centralised big servers running such services.

Governments would prefer us to stick with Internet 1.0 whereas I think it will be "the people" who would prefer to use Internet 2.0 (at least eventually).

Your definitions look quite err confusing. There will always be trend towards centralization. The internet was decentralized in its beginnings.

Potential end result...  Nxt Alias Sacrifice!!!     Cheesy

I doubt. Number of normal people is much higher than number of geeks, so unique aliases will stay longer than CIYAM wants. Smiley

Agreed. They serve the needs of people.

If anyone is bored waiting for the next post or just have some time to kill, I could do with some fact checking on the Nxt Glossary  Wink

I obviously think it is right, otherwise I wouldn't have wrote it  Grin But it needs to be checked. It stands at 63 entries now  Smiley

Joefox, VanBreuk and LiQio are the three who have sent me comments/updates so thanks to those   Wink

Nxt Glossary, part of the Nxt wiki can be found here >>>> http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/Glossary

PM more or post your comments on my very own little used Nxt Glossary thread   Grin

i heard forging now makes sense cuz the reward scheme was changed so that it actually make sense to put up nodes and forge

not like before with 200k u forge 1 nxt a month, LOL. a friend told me now u make a decent amount of nxt so nodes amount is suddenly going to the moon with more and more nodes every single day cuz ppl wanna chime in

is this true? if yes what changed plz? thx

guys this is truly ace move, like this nxt will go to the moon.best crypto news this week if true
im going to keep my nxt client running now whenever i can Smiley

i noticed a change. not in my income but in that i am no longer forging as many blocks per day as i used to. i used to get 3 or 4 per day on average now its 1 per day if im lucky.

sha256: f5ad650ec454ccd38c880d96753238e9bd56e1c3f78d40dfc59284f4a98ca77b

Change log:

Removed all quantityINT, balanceINT, amountNXT, priceNXT, feeNXT return values
from the JSON API, and removed support for parsing of INT and NXT parameters.
Only NQT (for amounts) and QNT (for quantities) units are supported now.

Enabled running on main net. NQT_BLOCK is set to 150000 for main net, until
then fractional amounts remain disabled. Integer NXT amounts and fees should
work normally on main net too, and this release should be network compatible
with 0.8.13 peers. NOTE: 0.7.* peers are no longer supported. Everyone should
update to 0.8.13 as a stable version now, and be prepared to update to the 0.9
branch when it is declared stable.

As the NRS javascript UI will no longer be developed, and nobody has the time
to convert it to use a BigInteger javascript library, it still accepts amounts
and fees in NXT, which are converted to NQT on the server side. Return values
are in NQT, and may result in overflow in the javascript for amounts exceeding
2^53 NQT (around 90 million NXT). Such overflow should only affect the UI,
inputs are handled as strings and converted to longs on the server side. Still,
for transactions of such size, better stay with the stable 0.8.13 branch, or
use a different client.

At first run on main net, just like it did on test net, the database version
code will update the amounts and fees columns in the block and transaction
tables to NQT, which will take some time. During that process the database
size will temporarily increase a lot, to around 1 GB. It will shrink back at
shutdown (which again takes some time), to around 180 MB.

Every new release to the mainnet will be very important from now on.

I vote for calling a clear release date/deadline so we can use; nxtcountdown.com

We can invite/inspire more new users with this method. But also educate them with a little text/video or redirect them to other NXT websites to keep nxtcountdown.com clean.

15 May for Asset Exchange for example.

I would like that, too.

Yeah! That's Basic marketing! We need this!

The NQT and fractional amounts features are not enabled on main net until block 150000. It should be safe, since most of the nodes will stay on the stable 0.8.13 branch, and running 0.9.3e on main net is a good test that it can also handle the old (integer amounts and fees) transaction format.

nxt.9.3e can run on the main net.

SELLING 1'500'000.00 NXT AT 0.000063

Hello awesome people, sorry to hijack the thread again

I am selling half a million nxt at market prices. don't tell me I should be selling lower because we (the ones who sells in bulk) are giving you volume without price increase, and you are (the buyers) are giving us price without decrease. It is a win win situation in my opinion.

Will take me a while to climb up again, But where is a will, there is a way...

4986291754133470191 is the address holding what I am selling. The current amount left is 1,552,339 NXT as I write this. Someone has shown interest in 82k currently.

Do you need more transparency? I can verify the holdings of course.

Will take me a while to climb up again, But where is a will, there is a way...
